TOPIC: What should the average number of pure gold value be per 2008 pack?

Re: What should the average number of pure gold value be per 2008 pack? 16 years 3 months ago #13

Isn't it mainly the big token buyers on the forums that spend a lot of time in & around the Taverns to trade tokens? I don't spend much time in the Tavern, but it was my impression that there were only a few big token traders setting up shop in the Tavern to trade tokens.

i've never set up shop in the tavern. i'm usually too busy running around like a chicken with my head cut off. i have done trading though, usually in the form of running to room and then back to what i was doing to begin with. i do plan on setting up shop this year. and i will trade accordingly. i will be looking for specific items and things to fill out my sets. will some folks get ripped off? possible. will i knowingly do it? NO. I WILL TRY TO MAKE ANY SCREWY DEAL RIGHT. that said; some folks you will never make happy.

God knows why you would need to make any screwy deals. You have more tokens than anyone short of the factory churning them out.
What sickens me a bit is this: I was told by one person that several individuals were taking the PLATs or Specials off the hands of unknowing players for as little as 25GP worth of equipment or GP-value tokens. That's just nuts in most cases.

To a non-collector, the PLATS don't really mean anything, so if it was a good deal to them, those traders didn't do anything wrong.

Giving someone 25 GP for an Ultra-Rare like a Special, on the other hand - would definitely fall into the "taking advantage of" category. Once that person realized what a bad trade he/she got, that could sour them on True Dungeon in general - especially if the trading was done within the True Dungeon area (like the Tavern). I'll bet many people might think that traders within the Tavern, especially if they are dressed in period dress, might be associated in some way with True Dungeon.

Especially if they hear from friends about the year that there were traders who were part of TD.

I agree.
(It's sometimes hard for me to tell who is 'working' in the tavern, or is just dressing the part.)
