TOPIC: What would you pick if there is a PYP in 08?

I think my top 5 picks would be...<br /><br />1 Dragon Helm - as long as the Cleric can use...<br />2 Amulet of Wonder<br />3 Mace of Dispelling<br />4 Troll Armor<br />5 Mithral Long Sword or Tower Shield or +1 Mighty Longbow.  (have not decided...)<br />

I hate to ask what may be an obvious question, but I noticed alot of replies saying the +1 Mighty Long Bow, may I ask why this is on so many person's lists?<br />

<br /><br />I think because you get the full benefit of damage from your strength bonus and if you have bracers of archery you can really pack a punch with this thing.

I might try it once or twice...<br /><br />4 less AC points for 4 more FORT save points is pretty sweet.  With the Cleric - I think that is like a possible +20 on Fort saves!

<br /><br />The items that garnered the most votes are all new this year, the collectors don't have them but they want them.  The Girdle of Hill Giant Strength has been around for a few years but it is usually a high demand item as well as +2 weapons and +1 full plate.

I think I would have to go with Widseth Lute (big surprise on that one) and then a +1 Mithral Longsword for Widseth to wack at critters.  Then I could give my +2 longsword to my paladin wife, Mrs Widseth, to hack them there creatures some more.  <br /><br />After that--my vote goes to Amulet of Wonder.  I wonder, wonder who, who wrote the rules on this.  I wonder what would happen if the powers of the amulet were random with each player and were determined in the first room, AFTER you decide whether you are going to wear the Horn of Plenty or Amulet of Wonder.  Instead of changing every year maybe it changes every dungeon run and the DM puts a sticker with the power for that run on it, determined by roll of the dice.  That would create some real choices to be made with the HOP and AOW, especially if one of the rare powers of the Amulet were something like 5 pulls per treasure box.  <br /><br /><br />Widseth

<br /><br />If you are going to do that, then you need to add some major good things to balance the bad.  How about level 5 instead of level 4.
