Still Mike, the problem with that is devaluation of existing tokens that were printed in sets.<br /><br />To keep that from happening and to keep collectors happy - you don't allow them to be obtainable from TD from year to year...that is what makes trading fun and keeps that going.<br /><br />What I think we need here are NEW tokens that everyone can (only) trade for - (large surplus - available many years) and something that preserves the value and collectibility of the tokens.  (ala Reserve Bars - only now we need weapons/armor...)

<br />Another option to limit trades in a way would be to make the trade in level related. For example of those people who have reached Lvl 3 or even 4 have the option to trade in rares for a UR.<br /><br />Kinda of a level related bonus for playing year after year and you could even hole punch their badge or keep a data base and only allow 1 trade per person.<br />

<br /><br />I am all for finding more Level bonuses...but not if it causes de-valuation of UR tokens.  That should be protected at all costs or we would be looking at URs everywhere, and that would take away from them quite a bit (as well as impact REDS - afterall the URs are now easier to get).  The PYP took a small bite from the UR rarity - but when you consider the increased revenue to TD - well, that is really worth it.  Afterall, we need TD to stick around or the tokens are just nice momentos!<br /><br />I remember the day when I got my first UR - it was a big day...every gift or trade for one is still a thrill.  I'd hate to see that gone for the new players or old for that matter.

Another option:<br /><br />Would be to create a serperate trade in line of tokens, with a different color or choose say 4 or 5 UR's and give them a different Border instead of Gold or Plat for example Silver.<br /><br />Instead of a selection of all UR's choose a short list <br /><br />ie<br />Horn of plenty<br />Amulet of Wonder<br />Ektdar's tinkering tool<br />Gloves of Dex<br />Cloak of mage<br /><br />Or choose 5 that fits a more simple class goal<br /><br />ie Ektdar's tinkering tool if you are playing a rogue when you do the trade etc<br /><br />There has to be a way to provide for everyone's needs<br />I hope<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />

That is kinda in the same class of idea as the one I had using alternate art...<br /><br />Leave the UR Set tokens out of the equation - and create totally "new" tokens for trade in.

<br /><br />Hey Bro, if you mean doing last year's set devalues it - I can kind of buy that argument, and I'd have no problem with limiting the unique print run to this year's tokens.  <br /><br />But, as long as you don't do a special run of PURPs (which would devalue the PURPs somewhat), I don't think it devalues the tokens at all.  I'm talking about doing a special print run, with a different color token (maybe copper) or a different color token sticker (a blue background for instance), of maybe 5 of each token.  <br /><br />If you figure that there are - what - probably 1000 of each Gold Rare printed, and 100 of each PLAT Rare printed - doing another 5 in a special print run would have no impact at all on the Gold/PLAT prices, as the special print run's quantities would be insignificant compared to the regular print run tokens. 

ahh... but do the collectors wnat ANOTHER thing to have to get Each Year?  I'm just kidding.<br /><br />I like the idea of 'totally New" or "the Special run" Mike mentioned  these are both good ideas.<br /><br />Perhaps Ideas of tiken similar but lesser in nature to known UR's?<br />A "horn of Slighly more than you need?  +1 token draw at chest?...stuff like that.

I there was a different color and rarer token run then smak would never rest again.  Are you prepared to take a life for those different color tokens?
