TOPIC: Is there a planned date for 2008 Tokens?

Maybe its token buying withdrawl. Hence this thread    Im surprised there arent more typos to the posts due to shaking hands.<br /><br />Hopefully the thread about Smak and his fridge carrying Shirpas will give you a smile. And while you are there, tell us all what you use for a carry-all .

<br />In theory, we would pick up some of that Christmas money people spend on gamers.  Instead of getting a cheesy wizard figurine, you could get some tokens from Aunt Betty (after you send her the token link).<br />

<br /><br />I think it's a great idea to list the tokens for sale as soon as possible to try to capture that holiday spending.  Just be sure to make it VERY clear that the tokens won't be shipping until after the New Year  =)

I didn't mean to pick on Kmart, but retailers in general who have policies such as (not a quote) "we much check each item that leaves the store if it looks like the item could have come from our store (even if it were purchased), even if someone is wearing it.<br /><br />In any case, each store, manager, and interpretation (sp) of company policy is different.

Lori and I talked about it, and we decided that we would forego any pre-ordering at this time.  Things are just too busy with our day jobs and the holidays to take on the task.  Sorry!<br /><br />As far as how the development is going...well...these are going rather slow.  We are such small potatos to our manufacturer that we just get attention when things are slow.  <br /><br />I do expect that we will be getting the 2008 tokens in March so start saying your pennies!<br /><br />We are going to do a special cool "Golden Ticket" promotion -- much like Willy Wonka did back in the day.  The details are still being ironed out, but basically we are going to randomly distribute 16 special tokens in the first run of tokens.  They should sell out by June.  These will be gold foil stickers that will look something like what I have attached.  Exact times and details will be announced later, but the run will feature things like extra treasure pulls, an exclusive extra room/puzzle and an after-run reception in the closed Tavern.  I should be really cool to have a little drama in every 10-pack that is opened. <br /><br />[attachment deleted by admin]

i believe it is going to be alot more than 1600 stacks. even if the major buyers go light....you are still probably talking about roughly 2000 stacks minimum. and yes this is all a complete guess.

There are literally thousands of 10-packs of tokens (meaning a pack of 10 tokens for $10) coming in March.  Of these, only 16 will have a single Golden Ticket in them.  Only 16 people will get to attend the two special runs as well as attend the after-run reception.  The Golden Tickets will not be available in any other manner.  They will only be available in random packs of tokens.  More than likely most of the people will be big token buyers, but I imagine there will be some 10-pack buyers too.  <br /><br />These should add a little bit of extra fun every time you open a 10-pack.  <br /><br />And this is going to sound strange, but for many years I have imagined Gary as the character "Charlie" in the 70s movie version.  That's why he got the named item first.  I wanted to make "Charlie" happy.  And I hope Gary finds a Golden Ticket because when I saw the movie recently (in HD) I thought to myself:  "You gotta do this too!  Gary needs to find a Golden Ticket!"  Or at least some TD fan that would really get a kick out of a special "wonka" type event.  <br /><br />Yeah...I know...I am weird.  ;/<br /><br />
