I guess, more importantly, if I chose to Raffle away the set (either personally and I keep the fees or I give the set to Jeff and TD keeps the fees), <br /><br /> - How many of you would buy a raffle ticket?<br /> - How many of you would buy Multiple raffle tickets?<br />

Oh, I thought JEFF was donating/auctioning them.  I was going to suggest ebay or a forum auction to raise money for charity.  I like the idea of donating them to Jeff to auction to raise funds for TD.  I also like the idea of displaying them in the Tavern.  Hmmmm - I'll have to go vote now.<br />

I apologize if there was any confusion.  I'm wondering what to do with my 2nd PLAT Set (if/when I complete it, hopefully this weekend) and possibly a third (if I can hunt down the last seven tokens).<br /><br />My first thought was to donate them to Jeff.<br />My next thought was, "how much could I get for these on ebay?"  I'm in enough debt to own about 75of a 2nd home, so selling these on ebay could help a bit.<br />I then wondered what I could do for those who didn't have large amounts of tokens or GP items.  That's where the raffle idea comes into play.  Could even keep the cost of a ticket low and make it only one ticket per person to make it so those with less GP would have a decent chance at winning.<br /><br />Who knows.  I'm not sure what I'm doing with it yet.  Thank you for the input.  JKW<br /><br />

Well The raffle idea, assuming you're offering the whole thing as a prize, is only slightly different from the Donate it to Jeff idea, the difference being where the money stopped.  I'm not belittling the effort or cost of composing a fullt set of Platinums, but since you asked what i reccomended, I'd find a way to either sell it, and donate the money to True dungeon, or find a way to use it where others can benefit ( I voted for the TD auction, and the tavern display)<br /><br />Myself, I wouldn't pay the $500 for a set, but perhaps that's cause a week ago $500 was worth 2 picks of UR's

Thank you for the feedback, d_black_se.<br /><br />I, also, would rather spend $500 on two URs (and 600 tokens) than 120 (or whatever the count actually is) PLAT tokens.  However, at even 1x the GP value in the guide, a full set of tokens is worth more than double a single 2007 UR.  Make it a 2x value for PLATs and a full set "should" be equivalent in GP value to that of FOUR URs ($1000 US).  Yikes!  <br /><br />Things like this are interesting.  Truly.  No way would I pay $1000 for this plat set myself.  $500?  Probably not.  Would I hope someone else would?  You bet!  <br /><br />I appreciate the votes and feedback.  Please keep them coming.  I'd like to get as large as a sample of the entire Forum population as I can, not just 5-12 people.

I say you attempt to convince him to plaque it up, display it in the cavern at next years major TD event, and "then" auction it off on the last day.

Thanks to a friend for thinking about me.  He suggested somehing I hadn't thought of (not sure why not; perhaps I'm in a state of token delirium):  use the 2007 Plat Set to trade for a 2008 Set (since I might not be able to afford tokens in 2008) and some other goodies.<br /><br /><br />I thought of another idea:  <br />1)  Hang a Plat Set "on loan" in the Tavern (under lock and key!).  Would appreciate help putting together a display case.  I have a few ideas.<br /><br />2)  Use the 2nd Plat set to help boost sales - I Hope.  Put it in a display case above the 2008 token sales table at the Con.  Give everyone who orders $250 or more (throughout the entire lenth of the sales from pre-order to end of Con) a chance at a "hat draw" for the plat set.  Perhaps either 1 chance per person for a minimum of a $250 order or up to a maximum of 4 entries per person (one for eah $250 order) so as to give high-buyers a better chance without totally shutting out the $250-only buyers.  Tied with a Pick-Your-Purp Promotion, this might help people reach that $250 level (and create some more tokenholics).<br /><br /><br />What does the Forum think of these ideas?  Would #2 help boost sales much?<br /><br /><br />JKW

I could help with the Display end of it... I have an idea, that would be fairly easy, if a bit on the heavy side..<br /><br />as for the 2 new ideas...IDK  the drawing idea might encourage others...but if you're fixing to come up short next year, we could do the display, and sell the set, afterwards donating the display case to jeff for new sets, as they change..

As far as displaying it - I'm hoping that Jeff has kept a complete Gold & Plat set (including PURPs) of the 2007 set that he could use to display.  Ideally Jeff would have sets of all the tokens each year that he could display.  If he doesn't have a complete PLAT set then donating it to him for display each year would be a great idea!  If he has kept a set for himself, then donating it for auction would be ideal  =)
