I was just wondering what ends up happening to tokens that aren't purchased by the next gencon. I dunno that anyone's ever brought up the subject ebfore, but it's not like you could just mix them into the new batch, right? I mean, there would be some old tokens removed and new ones added. Unless someone was very good at guesstimating the amount, there were either shortages or extras left over each year. Do they just get dumped en masse into the treasure generators?

People have mentioned the giant garbage bag o' woodies from the auction and combo tradein from 2006. Is there now a giant garbage bag of chippies from this past year with reserve tokens and the like? Do the unsold packs from 2007 just get tossed into there when 2008 rolls out?

I don't suppose these new tokens could be fed to an incinerator as easily, could they?

If Jeff is buying in large volume to get good prices - I would have to imagine there might be a ton left over.

I'd suggest keeping 2007 tokens bags for sale as "Last Year's packs." Let new 2008 players have a shot at the older stuff as long as supply lasts.

i suggested before that he should keep the tokens the same for each story line. 2008 could be the same as 2007. then as each story line is introduced a new line of tokens can be as well. it would allow for more flexability with the TD token budget.

Three years of the same tokens might be a little too long of a run for some people though.
While it takes me that long to get the tokens I want, others might be itching for a new batch more often.

3 years is a long time, but this would only be year 2. that would allow jeff time to plan accordingly.

just a thought.

I keep waiting for Jeff to make a big offer. I was very intersted in the "buy $250 and get a set of ingredients and alchemist pouch (and the normal random purple)" offer. Which didn't happen.

Heck if he changed that to a pick your purple and the other goodies I might order a couple sets next week.

I think some might be used to make up the "free bag" in 2008. The rest, I do not know. I kind of expected him to make an offer by now...

Welp, since the backs will never change, you could buy craplods of pallets of those and not have to worry about it going to waste. They'll just be used each year. If that's the majority of the cost of a token, then it's not a big deal. It's only the 'sticker' portion that would go to waste.

On a sidenote, _that_ would be a hell of a collector's item. A sheet of token stickers. I wonder if they come on something framable....
