nope. Since it was a result of incement weather and the airline had no control over the cause we were told we weren't entitled to a voucher. We did play a few games (most were packed but we had a few) whilst sitting on the floor waiting to hear about our next flight delay.
longest trip home ever

Oy. Have you recovered yet?

It sounds a bit like my trip home (tho we had more people caught in the snafu)...

Arrive at airport 1.5 hrs early
Get checked in 1.4 hours later after waiting in a freaking long line.
Luggage got tagged super-fast and with no consideration for whose luggage is whose.
Arrive at the gate to be told the plane is overbooked and only 3 of our 5 person party can get on the plane.
Party gets split up, airline pulls the luggage for 2 of us.
Flight gets delayed.
Flight gets delayed.
Finally 3 of our party take off for Denver.
Miss their connecting flight.
Get assigned a different connecting flight, for 6am
They get stuck sleeping in the airport overnight
Half of their luggage is missing.
Connecting flight gets them to Calgary.
More of their luggage is missing.
Finally get a flight to Edmonton, returning home around noon, about 24 hours after leaving Indy.
The 2 of us who got left behind get rebooked on a different flight, to Toronto.
Flight is delayed.
Flight is delayed.
Arrive in Toronto having missed the connecting flight to Edmonton.
Rebooked for a flight the next day at noon.
Airline gives us a comp. hotel at least.
But the luggage we have isn't ours, we've got our friends' bags.
Get back to the airport the next morning.
Flight is delayed.
Finally board & manage to make it to Edmonton.
Our (friends') luggage manages to make it home with us.
But 2 bags are still missing.
Manage to find one of the missing bags at the airport on the same day.
Last bag is finally found 3 days later.

Well.... at least it happened on the way home, and not on the way *to* GenCon.
Yea, my way to Gencon was easy. It must have been the weather on the return that caused the delays, though I didn't leave until late morning on the day after.

Thankfully my luggage was all in one piece. However, since two of the 7 plane trips in my lifetime ended up with my luggage being lost, I think I've paid my dues in that regard...

That's the ONLY reason I don't miss So Cal. Thank goodness I can drive to Indy.

We drove to indy the first year. For Lancaster PA it took 10 to 12 hours if I recall correctly. We are considering driving next year but when flights to and from go half smooth it's much better to fly. Last year we encountered absolutely no issues flying to or from. This year there were just really bad storms on Monday that caused backups at airports all across the country. 2 of my friends drove and said that they were so stressed after driving through all the storms that they couldn't relax and sleep and took off Tuesday from work anyway. At least I got to play games on the airport floor instead of going through that.

Indy is just a little over 3 hours drive for me.
I used to have to drive further than that to have to pick up my ex from college every summer. Indy is MUCH more worth the drive. LOL.

What is very, very scary is when someone at work made at $250 error (we had to reship a messed up order overnight to the west coast) and my first thought was "Drat, that cost me an extra order of tokens."
