Although personally I like that you can take any amount of tokens you want into the dungeon. I love to be ready for every possible situation and you cant do that with a limited amount of tokens.

There is a downside to too many tokens though: accessibility. If you have 1000 tokens, unless you are EXTREMELY well organized, finding the anti-toxin in a short amount of time could be a challenge.
This is true. Personally I have all of my tokens sorted by group and in labelled pouches to be worn on a belt for easy access.

You should spray paint the entire belt & pouches with gold paint, and it can be your very own Batman Utility Belt!

I use pouches that I mark, too, but it is surprising in the dark dungeon, how long it takes to find that one token you need when you need it--like trying to use a hammer and spike to slow a crushing wall and then trying to find the knock spell to open the door because hammer and spike didn't work and we didn't find the key and the rogue is having difficulty. Like Douglas said, unless you are extremely organized and familiar with your system--in the darkness and under time pressure things can become a challenge.

Actually the fewer tokens I take in, I find that I use them more often (because I can find them) and more creatively (because I have to figure a way to use what I have).

In a way I would like to see some sort of encumbrance rule. I think it would create a party dynamic that might foster cooperation and planning. Plus bone scroll cases and alchemist pouches and bags of holding might rise in stature if they allowed a few extra scrolls or potions or pieces of equipment.

Just some thoughts.

Widseth

Love the Idea!!! If nothing else we should give it a trial run next year just pick 7 or 8 people give it a test run and see how it works!!

Best way to see if it will work is to try it!!
