TOPIC: Factory Sealed

<br />Hey all!<br /><br />Jeff didn't tell me I couldn't say anything (he had the chance to do so in his last response to me), so I'm sharing what I think to be great news for all.<br /><br />You may recall how Jeff listened to the feedback regarding the original tokens.  How most of us were finding 3-6 of the same Common token in a pack of 10 tokens.  How we said we'd rather it be limited to a maximum of 2 or so of the same token in a 10 pack.<br /><br />For a while now, Jeff's family (and his 80+ year old in-laws!!!) have been hand-sorting the tokens for us so that we'd receive a more even distribution - so we'd be happy customers.  Way to go TD!  Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa.  That's way above and beyond.  We appreciate it.<br /><br /><br />Well - my most recent shipment (and God help me have the strength to say no - my last shipment) of tokens arrived in the clear factory shrink-wrapping.<br /><br />To my wonder, I think I had no more than 2 of the same common in any pack of 10 tokens, and, then, such an occurance (2 of the same) was infrequent.<br /><br />THANK YOU! - and congratulations to Jeff and the gang for working this out for everyone.  I think the TD customers will be much happier overall.<br /><br />

<br /><br />That's great, John!  I got a shrink-wrapped order a few weeks before you did, and mine still had common token distribution tokens with 3-5 of the same token in some packs, but maybe I got some "old" shrink-wrapped ones and you got new and improved ones (yours were certainly better than mine in regards to 00 bags  =D ).  I think it would be great if the problems were resolved so Jeff & Family didn't have to do all that extra sorting work.  <br /><br />I don't mind getting the poor distribution because I figure it mostly evens out in large orders, but I see how it would be a big problem for a new player with just his one pack of tokens to get 5 waterskins. 

Will this be the way they are sold during GC though?

Good point.  I did have the feeling when Jeff asked if I minded getting them in the shrink-wrap instead of bags that the standard way of selling them would be in the bags after they sorted them.  Of course I'm sure if they fix the distribution problems the ideal solution would be to use the shrink-wrapped tokens, even if you then put them in a bag it still saves Jeff and Lori and their family a TON of time and effort. 

Thats good news.  I've been wondering though.  Is it really a big deal to get 3+ of the same commons in a 10-pack?  Over the long haul, the common distribution should average out.  And if they are Potions of Cure Light Wounds, I'm guessing there wouldn't be an objection.   =)<br /><br />I got some packs with 3+ of one common and the fact that I only got 1 Waterskin out of 30 packs didn't really bother me.

Thanks, Jeff, Lori, et al!<br /><br />It does matter if one is getting a small order (I only got 12 bags), or if one is getting their tokens at the con.  Over a large order the distribution should balance out.<br /><br />Brian<br />

I agree - the big impact would be at GENCON, if someone is getting their first pack of tokens at the start of the adventure and gets 4 of the same common, it would impact their enjoyment of the event.  Especially if they were in a group that wasn't receptive to trading tokens. 

I will be ordering soon and was going to request the sealled packs (I got enough bags heh).<br /><br />Is that an option? Or if you only order 100 to 200 dollars worth must they come in bags?<br /><br />*Starts filling all the little black bags with sand in case of a flood*

<br /><br />just curious if the new sealed packs still kept the distribution of the plat tokens?  sure, the re-bags are great for making sure there is a more even distribution/variety of tokens, but it seemed like there was a severe lack of plat rares (my initial order had the 1 in 10 packs plat was a rare, since they did the re-bags i have hardly seen any plat rares at all).

<br /><br />Just send us a note about what way you want your tokens.  If you are concerned about getting 3x or 4x of a certain item in a pack then I would take the bagged ones.  I can't guarantee the shrink wrapped ones for sure.

<br /><br />With the shrink wrapped there was an even distribution of plat backs across the rarity levels, but with the bagged ones it is all random.  You could get 10 Common, 10 Uncommon or even 10 Rare -- or somewhere in the middle.  Let us know if you have a preference.
