TOPIC: Treasure Tokens on Ebay Ending Friday 13 July

Re: Treasure Tokens on Ebay 16 years 9 months ago #37

Has any thread ever stayed on topic the whole time if it goes more than a page long?

Hey John,

No problem, I didn't mean to sound like I was unhappy the thread was derailed - that's what these forums are all about =)

I was just temporarily getting the thread back on track as the auctions were ending. Now that they're over - feel free to get back to derailing. I'll probably jump back in in a few days about the auctions ending Friday.

I might mention that the last set of auctions of 30 token lots sold (especially once fees from Ebay & Paypal are figured in) were on average less than three bags of tokens. Ebay gives and Ebay taketh away =D

Mike

Lol.

Actually, I figured I was asking Binia to show me Magic, since she said she is, or was?, an avid player.
Of course, I'd love to socialize with you, too, Mike.

Make that a 'was' John - but it took several sessions in rehab to get to this point. =D

Honestly, it's a very expensive game if you want to be competitive, although there are countless combinations and permutations of cards that make it fascinating. You'll always be thinking "if only I had a couple of xxxx cards, my deck would be killer!" Yikes!

And Forsaken? *I* thought it was funny - those were not crickets chirping, it was me snickering.

If you play Limited Magic (sealed deck or draft), it can be a very affordable game to play. You can play with a starter deck and a couple of booster packs, or a few booster packs, and get several hours of fun playing once you do the draft (if you're doing a draft) and build your deck.

What I like to do with my friends often is to draft three booster packs, remove up to 3 cards from that (to help remove a color), and then just add lands and play with all the cards you drafted (minus the up to three cards). After we've played a number of games like that, we often draft one more pack, and build one or two 40 card decks from the 4 packs of cards and play those for awhile. It's cheaper than going to a movie really, and you get cool cards to keep afterwards.

I do agree that if you want to play competitive Magic, it can be very expensive, as with every new expansion there are a few high-priced cards you need to get up to 4 of.

Just a reminder the auctions end tomorrow. They end during work hours, so if you don't have access to a computer you might want to bid today/tonight.

Most of the auctions are still priced well below the value of the tokens, so there are some great deals to bid on =)
