TOPIC: Tokens at Origins?

It just occurred to me that Origins is only a few weeks away now and I figured I'd check and see if anyone here is going. I'm be trucking down with friends that wednesday and staying through sunday. If there are any TD'ers around interested in trading, I could always haul my tokens along with me. We'll be driving so the weight won't be a big issue. I've decided to take it easy for origins without scheduling a lot of events so I think it'll mostly end up being a social event for me. It's a nice chance to meet up with friends without the hectic chaos that often pervades gencon.

<br /><br />I like origins, even better than gencon sometimes. It's smaller, but only just so that it's not so crowded and overwhelming. The easiest way to think of it is like gencon light. Instead of an attendance number of 20-25k, origins is somewhere around 10-15k.

So no one is going to origins? I'm pretty surprised.

Less than 2 days until origins. It's still not too late to get ready to throw a pack in the car and set off for the con.

<br /><br />well, i was considering going to origins, but it seems that InConJunction is also this weekend.  it is a much smaller sci-fi/fantasy* con here in indy.  since one of my friends is part of the group who runs it, and it doesnt require me to get a hotel room or travel out of state, i am staying here.  but ill see you at gencon.<br /><br />*there is gaming as well, but it isnt the focus.  if you are curious, check out www.inconjunction.org

<br /><br />Nothing could compare to a place in San Diego - Dick's Last Resort!<br /><br />That was the Bachlorette party headquarters!  It was so hot - I had my bachelor party there, just to watch all the Bachlorette's celebrate!<br /><br />um - sorry many many moons ago - I've turned over a new leaf!

Welp, no token trading at origins but it was pretty spiffy overall. I should have attended the con like it was a drinking game. Everytime someone walked up to me and said that the con was either dying or dead, take a shot. I would have been @%$^-faced before the first day was out.<br /><br />Anyway, I'm recapping the trip with pictures on the LJ for those who are interested. I'm trying to do one a day which means that it'll wrap up on saturday if I keep to the schedule.
