TOPIC: Least Expensive Way to get a COA

Least Expensive Way to get a COA 6 months 2 weeks ago #1

Charms of Avarice turn out to likely set the floor for PYP values. Based on current auction prices for trade goods (from closed auctions), the trade goods (including the 10K bar) will cost about $250. The rest of the CoA recipe #3 is 12 points of TE's. The Bead of Bounty counts as 1 point.

CoA's are selling for about $1,300. That means if you can get 12 Beads of Bounty for less than $1,050 ($87 each) - however much you save on them yields a less expensive COA. For example, if you got them for $50 each in an auction - that means you could transmute a CoA for $850.

That's a pretty substantial reduction in costs.

Of course, I'd lose the respect of anyone in my profession (sales) if I didn't also mention my current pre-order auction has PYPs (ie Beads of Bounty) with high bids well below $87 each :)

I've been buying Beads of Bounty since pre-orders started, to finally make my Charm of Avarice. Each one cost me $80-90. Got a few from Trent's auctions. His experience discounts are really nice. I only need 3 more BoBs.

Now I need to decide if I want to spend the trade goods I have on a few hire lings at GHC, or save them for CoA. I don't need CoA until Gen Con next year, since I run VTDs with you Fred, so you got us covered, which we appreciate greatly.

At this time, next Thursday, we'll probably be in room 6 or 7. Cant wait!
