TOPIC: Mage Medallion and Intensify

Mage Medallion and Intensify 1 year 1 month ago #1

The Token Database says that the Mage Medallion's Intensify power reduces a monster's Spell Resistance to 25 percent. If a monster has spell immunity, does that mean it has resistance of 100 percent that the power will reduce to 25 percent, or does it mean the monster is immune even to Intensify?

I think this is a great question.

As an example, I tried this on a certain multi eyed monster at GenCon and the consensus was no at that time. To my understanding that monster was meant to test sliding skills and not have a simple AOE spell take care of everything. I also tried this with a Tempest Runestone to take down its shock resistance on the initial hit but that idea was nixxed as well.

Interested in the actual answer but from what I have seen you can't remove "magic immunity" but if they are immune to a single element you can reduce their resistance as you suggested.

I think perhaps once since the mage abilities were created did this ability actually come into play. I understand why they want situations where magic is nerfed, but if they aren't going to allow this to work once in a while, then please replace it with something useful.

All it would take is a tokendb update. The mage abilities aren't reflected on the token or character cards.

Mage Powers are unbounded. Only reason to replace one is to modify or remove existing.

+1 along with Assured and Boost should be replaced along with Intensify.

It sets the monsters spell resistance to the lesser of what it currently is, or 25%.

The problem is that spell resistance is very rarely anymore a percent (likely more difficult to calculate). Normally, based on difficulty, X points of damage are mitigated by the monster. Intensify has no effect on that. At least none I'm aware of.
