TOPIC: Environmentally friendly alternative for transmutes?

Environmentally friendly alternative for transmutes? 2 years 6 months ago #1

I'm packaging up an order of 16 transmutes, and I'm cringing as I pack each one into a separate Ziplock baggie. I understand the value of having each one in a separate bag for ease of handling at TDHQ, and I understand the value of being able to see what's inside the bags, but oy, that's a lot of plastic for a single use. Do any of y'all have an alternative that is less wasteful?

I'm not sure, but I think you can ask them to return the baggies which would let you reuse them.

For in person transmutes at gencon there is normally a table populated with used ziplocks that people make use of. Not sure if that's still going to be a thing in enhanced sanitation land though.

Generally, as long as your baggies are in good condition, TD is happy to give them back to you (in person or via mail). Or at least that has been the case in the past.

I think Druegar even had a post about this, but I'm having trouble finding it. So I may be mistaken.

write on the sheet you want the bags back. We will put them with your pick up order.

I didn't know this was an option, good to know!

Maybe there could be a checkbox added to the form for "please return my Ziploc bags so I can reuse them"?

That's a great idea. I had no idea this was an option, but I would definitely reuse my baggies.

Best Practice: On the Order Form you include with the tokens you send in, hand write* that you'd like the bags to be returned. The tokens are typically processed before viewing the order electronically and by that time it may be too late.

*Please write clearly enough that a stranger can read it, not just so YOU can read it. Some of y'all's handwriting is... sub-optimal.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

To clarify, my suggestion was add a checkbox to the printable paper form, that we would check by hand using a pen (so it fits into HQ's workflow exactly the same way as hand-writing a note, but it's easier for us to remember to do it).

That said, I will try my best to remember to do it!

Unfortunately people could not flip the paper over to check the legendary tokens they made. They did the check boxes on the recipe sheet. But would not write on the main page they had one
