TOPIC: New Completion token: Belt of the brave

New Completion token: Belt of the brave 3 years 6 months ago #25

It is OK for there to be some tokens that are a more powerful than expected and in general completion tokens have been very good in the past. Maybe the forums have always been this way, but I feel that 2020 has been the year of excessive calls for nerfing tokens. I think we should let new players have nice things. Most experienced players are going to have a better token.

This belt is not as good as the Arcane Belt or the Orion’s Belt

It is better than many of the strength belts in some builds, but as others pointed out there are advantages to having strength over plus hit and plus damage.

No one is against people having nice things. It is arguably better than UR's and the very recent transmute. It sets a bad precedent to make a rare better than those. Why buy a UR if there is going to be a better rare? Not equal, better (arguably). It creates a terrible power curve. Now you cannot do a UR in the waist unless it is better than this and therefore way better than previous UR's.

I'd take the rare over Arcane for a Melee build character. It's BETTER than the UR in that instance.

If this was a rare you could get in a random token pack or in a token order I agree completely. I don't see the same issue with the limited supply of tokens given out as a completion token.

Other people in this thread have recommended that completion tokens and volunteer tokens get a different back and I like this idea. These tokens don't go through the normal player review process, they are less common than the classification would imply (UC, R, UR), and they tend to be more valuable. A change to show that they are special would be a good thing. :)

Except that it is still better than a UR. I have nothing against a new classification (assuming it would not affect trade goods). I have no issue with it being better than the rare. Better than the UR means the next waist UR has to be better than it, or else no one would want it.

We are seeing several VERY HIGH VALUE rare completion tokens this year and I, for one, am not happy with that.

It's setting a BAD precedent

I think there are a few tokens that slip through that end up being exceptions to the power curve. For example Dragonscale Armor is definitely not the baseline for new Druid armor.

I don't see this token as the next baseline for the next UR belt.

UR tokens can be slightly different from eachother.

You can't expect to print a NEW UR token that is WORSE than an existing RARE. So any new UR tokens must be STRONGER than this rare

I haven't bought any new armor for my Druid since I acquired it either. It is BiS. If a completion token was better then it I would sell my UR and get it it instead. But you are also talking about UR to UR with Dragonscale.

This token has to be the new baseline for the UR melee belt. If it isn't WHY would anyone get it? Seriously. If you have this belt and Hill Giant belt is reprinted are you telling me you going to 'upgrade' to the UR?

It’s also better than ogre mage power and girdle of stone giant strength. Why transmute anymore ogre mage belts, or why buy a reprint of stone giant.

I don’t think any of this discussion is going to matter though, right? Sounds like it’s a done deal.

It is a done deal that it is going to be printed, probably. It is a done deal that it will be handed out. Don't know that is set, could be but don't know.
