TOPIC: Thornybarb Pass Littered with Riches!

Thornybarb Pass Littered with Riches! 3 years 9 months ago #1

The cost for a Thornybarb Pass ticket is $66.

Included in that ticket is a token 10 pack, 3 treasure pulls + whatever bonuses you have, and completion tokens:

Normal: Ioun Stone Jasper Prism, +1 damage with Melee attacks
Hardcore: Ioun Stone Jasper Ellipsoid, +2 damage with Melee attacks
Nightname: Both of the above

In the last 2 years Ioun Stone Infernal Fire Prism was selling for ~$100 as a PyP, and these completion tokens provide similar effects, and stack in the Ioun Slot.

I jumped in a run that only had a single ticket left during the AG sale under the assumption it was more likely to run at HC, specically to get the Jasper Ellipsoid. It looks to be a definitive "chase" completion token, given that it's equivalent to an UR.

I'll be using mine if needed to transmute something, or I'll put them up for sale. If I am making a melee attack, something has gone very wrong.

Definitely need to find a group going in for Hardcore this year, then. Seems like a real solid item.

Yeah the Jasper tokens are definitely the best completion tokens of the 2020 set. Was looking forward to getting them and adding them to some builds.

I'm a touch irked that these turned out to be the completion token for Thornbarb week 2 when I had spent my available cash for tickets in week 1..

The option to return your week 1 ticket and purchase a week 2 ticket is always out there and remember the week 1 tokens will still be desirable for transmutes if nothing else.

It's a few weeks late to exchange tickets for Thornbarb runs.....

It could be argued it is a bit late to be irked as well since we have known about the completion token for V2b for months...lol. Perhaps while it wasstill only V2.

We did know the completion token for V2(then becoming V2B) V2A and V1B were created, to your point.

V1 (becoming V1A) and V2 (becoming V2B) where announced and tickets released, then V1B and V2A became a thing right after V1A weekend (I think the 4th maybe).

Keep in mind that completion tokens (for all 2020 runs except Patron) are also randomly distributed in the treasure boxes. I had 2 of the Ioun Stone Prisms before we even did that run. There is a decent chance to get it still - just do a few more runs.

I wouldn't get too upset at TD, they didn't know they would do 2 sets of runs until after initial results came out. Once they did, they wanted to keep the completion tokens initially promised assigned to their respective runs. The images for what tokens were included has been there since each run has been announced.
