I would be in favor of an extension but not too fussed if it didnt happen. Full disclosure I was hoping to trade enough fragments to make one more belt this year.

I think recipes should be extended 1 year.

For me, the reason is that I do all my transmuting in person*. I know I am probably in the minority on that here, but I suspect there are a LOT of casual players that don't mail in transmutes.

*There was exactly one, very special, exception to this in 2010-2011.
this is not a signature.

I prefer to do high value transmutes in person. I’m sitting on parts for 2 COAs, 2 kilts, and a belt. That would be one really expensive lost package

Maybe there could be some way TD could do in-person token transmuting somewhere in the Indy area in the Fall or Winter?

Or Maybe another True Realm / True Dungeon Celebration in the fall in Carbondale, if a social distancing way could be figured out to hold it, with onsite token transmuting included?

I would also love to be able to transmute onsite somewhere this year. I have more than I feel comfortable mailing.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

It’s a good solution for people that live in the region but not for many of us. I will only travel the 12 to 16 hours drive if there is event’s I know I want to play like TD.

I try not to mail off too much high value stuff myself, but will if I need to. I have 3 relics I am hoping to transmute are Origins but we will se how that works out.

Maybe something where we send in a picture of the transmute mats and get an extension code before the lock out date. Then you could just present you physical tokens whenever and get checked off a list of allowed transmutes.

I really like your idea picc, it solves one of the issues.

Is there also a way to help with the trading aspect?

Trading remotely can be very costly via mail. Especially if you get bilked to pay for shipping on both ends.

I would hope for extension for this year as i'm who tends to do a fair amount of in person/relative small trades to save on shipping at cons plus in person transmute.

I can understand but not like if Jeff says sorry no extensions.

Also feels too early/I expect Jeff and Co still have lots of stuff to figure out and decide upon.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I've transmuted 99% of my tokens through the mail, and never had a problem, including dozens of legendaries and eldritch relics, and thousands of trade goods.

The only token I've ever transmuted in person was 1 or 2 Bead of the Lucky Traveler, and that only so I could use it at the con.

I use either first class or priority mail. If you are really concerned you can use registered mail. To use registered mail you must present the package to a USPS employee for shipping, it requires signature on delivery, chain of custody via receipts is made as it moves through the mail system in locked containers and separate locked areas in mail facilities.

It would not be surprising to me if it's more likely for one to lose their tokens as you pack them, drive them around, carry them into cons, etc. than for registered mail to go missing.

I’m in the same position, living in Arizona I had to mail almost everything. But I have done one or two transmutes at a con and it just felt amazing to not have to mail it in and pay and then wait. So I can see the allure for most people

I have two COAs to turn in for the new one and would prefer to do that in person, so I'd definitely like to see that deadline extended.
