TOPIC: Spell resistance and charm of the cabal

As I’ve been prepping for our groups nightmare run, I’ve been looking though some tokens that were oop before I started. I found the boots of Elven kind (who knew there were boots with no sneak attack delay?) and cabal set. I see the charm of the cabal affects spell resistance, but looking at the 2019 modules I don’t see what the base spell resistance is per difficulty. Is resistance something published outside of the modules?

I think monsters simply didnt have spell resistance in 2019. Older monsters definitely did have it.

I thought there was something that said that they did away with being able to defeat spell resistance

I think you are thinking of removing the eldritch bonus of bypassing spell resistance 100% of the time.

I don't know for sure, but I would think other methods, such as the cabal set, would still work.

I remember SR no longer being a thing, but I remember a lot of things that never happened.

That was my original parsing of the announcement as well. But I was corrected by Druegar. SR is still a thing. Only Charm of the Cabal and +2 Rod of Disjunction currently impact it in general.

Yep, definitely still a thing.

I specifically remember running across it after the announcement about the eldritch set. I was equipped with the Cabal set and given a 5% bonus, which actually came into play and allowed my spell to hit when it otherwise wouldn't.
