TOPIC: Looking for some feedback on a new method to carry your character tokens around

Looking for some feedback on a new method to carry your character tokens around 4 years 5 months ago #1

This year I have been dabbling with fun and interesting ways to carry tokens. The target audience are those looking to get into the game but hasn’t quite yet leaped to an all out legendary/relic gala of tokens. My first prototype is done. Would like some feedback. While at GHC, I pulled it out and showed some people the scroll...but when I did, some of the tokens slipped out. As a result, I made a modification so the back of the plastic now has securing flaps for each “slot”.

A few modifications I already intend to make with the reveal of 2020 arcanes...I am going to create fold over elements for the scroll that will hold the “expansions”.
In addition, I am going to extend it down to provide 15 more open slots on the bottom for “slotless”.

I think we saw this at GHC and took note of it.

It's a great way if you want to keep everything sorted by slot.

I would also like one for consumables, as I feel it'd be fun to unfurl a scroll of scrolls, for example.

Wade if that was you across from us, then I am disappointed I didn’t connect the name to the person. Maybe in Origins.

Anthony, I am not sure of the future of this. I have some ideas...again, my central theme is to entice and encourage new players with some of the same energy I felt when I first started playing. One option could be to sell...another thought I had was just get it worked out and do a DIY set of plans.

Wade, I too imagine a scroll of scrolls. I actually dabbled with a potion belt. I also carry a roller bag through the dungeon and we made a Velcro attachment for the handle that holds potions and such..

Simply put.organization is a newbie’s first major problem to overcome. I.e..party card handles stuff...2-4 tokens for weapons...and then an assortment of “stuff”. I personally love the little 1pt of health and 2 pts of DEX potions...but finding them in the dungeon and being ready for them was one of the “newbie” things I had to deal with..

My brother bought the book of token sleeves...nice for sure...but not useful in the dungeons.

I absolutely love the sashes...but the layout is the one thing I remembered the first time I played and that memory has held now for a couple of years. I think that stickiness works for people coming into the game until they get beyond their “first favorite build”...

I also think about another overlay that lets you have other tokens and depending on which layer...different class of characters.

Anyway...looking for some critical feedback. I would like feedback that improves its utility before I start on version 2.0

I walked up with a friend and saw them, you mentioned I think your wife/fiancee/girlfriend/SO makes them.

In terms of organization, I think leaving space for slot expanders is a good idea if at all possible, depending on your target audience. Also, token security is a big deal for all players, so that too is a major concern.

For slotless, I would say making space for 30 is a good idea.

Thats really cool, agree with the idea of having more slots for the ever increasing slotless tokens. I feel you on organizing by slots. After years of coaching that pattern/way of sorting just sticks doesn't it?

With those of us who value holding tokens secure i wonder if there's a relative easy way to add a clip or clasp to it to keep it closed?

I've been looking for a few years to find something that can hold my build and keep it at hand while on a strap or belt clip. This does intrigue me.

Good work and welcome to the community.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
