collectors will go after tokens to collect them. Extra powers aren’t going to change that. I think you mean something besides collectors.

Token collectors collect for many reasons, including but not limited to completion-ism.

What would you prefer we call "people who acquire legendary true dungeon tokens, and whose decisions are influenced by token powers" ?

Nothing comes to mind.

I agree we don't know, but I think the default assumption is they will not be separate.

Are you thinking this proposal would make sense in one scenario and not in another?

Well along these lines, you know what I would like to see?

A rare, or uncommon, that is buffed if a legendary is in the group. You know, something to make newer players, or more casual collectors really happy to see that Hardcore player...

"Issue" would be strong.

But we know that not all classes are in equal demand. I suspect having a synergy bonus for all-class-legendary would lead to:

a. More legendaries being transmuted (which is a think I think is good).
b. The least in demand legandaries being transmuted more than they would have been otherwise (which I also think is good - or more I think it's good that more of the relics for those classes get created so legendaries can be available in the future).

I think it's more likely a collector would craft extra class legendaries to get a synergy benefit on their primary classes, than to craft one of the off chance they ever play an alternate class.

How about instead, we spend time to make those classes more desired across all token-buying levels?

I didn’t say anything about about completion-ism. But if you collect be it tokens or something else then you may collect only certain types of items. Someone may collect tokens with Sapphire in the name for example. So they would like to have all of the types (and maybe all the sapphire tokens) to complete their collection however they define that collection. So I guess it is true that if there was someone that collected synergistic tokens your proposal would make it more desirable for those collectors, by the same idea sticking something else on them, say level bumps would make it desirable for collectors of level bump tokens. Or better yet someone that collects non-synergistic tokens will suddenly not want to collect these legendaries.

Wanting a token because of the power it has because you plan to use it (or loan to show one to use) does not make you a collector. It makes you the same same as everyone else in deciding if you want a token or not.

Just to be clear I am not arguing about whether legendaries should have synergy on them or not. I don’t care and will let others argue for or against and let tptb decide. Using an argument that they will suddenly be desirable by collectors though I think is a weak argument to use to persuade for adding something to preexisting tokens with already established powers.

Agreed.

This token would be awesome if it were a good base ability tied to a charm or ioun stone (newer players and even those around the UR build level tend to have some of these slots open), which then gets better if there is a legendary in the party, or something.

Something like:
Charm of the Inspired (rare)
+1 to hit (melee and ranged)
+1 to hit if at least one other party member has a relic
+3 hp if at least one other party member has a legendary

All would be cumulative, so if there was a relic and legendary in the party, it would be +2 to hit and +3 hp, and you can't self buff with it with the wording of "other party member".

Maybe too good?

While I love the idea, I worry about optics.

Will newer players see this as, "in order to really help.our party, someone has to make a legendary"

I think it is an extremely clever idea, and one that could go quite well.
