Why are people snipping at the end result of the relic? We talked all along about having realistic expectations of what the recipe could be. So what if it’s not the strongest relic? It’s WAY better than charms of transmorph.

Why do you find it concerning that people are comparing this to other waist slot URs and relics and drawing out the differences and relative strengths? If that activity is concerning, it would seem to me nearly all token design discussions would similarly be concerning.

It's very different than Charm's of transmorph, not way better than charms of transmorph.

I'm not sure how one would go about comparing an UC treasure box consumable synergy charm with a permanent waist slot item that requires the equivalent of 6 unique UC treasure only tokens, 6 unique monster bits, 116 rares, 100 uncommons, and 5000 GP to transmute.

As I said - I'm exited others are excited. I also think this effect is underwhelming at the waist slot and won't be in high demand. I've been wrong before.

This could of been so much worse for finding 6 uncommon treasure bits in the mix. A lot of work and effort went into the process of this +1 extra transmute option freely developed for the masses.

I found the end result to be a pleasant surprise to this 2 month treasure hunt.

I agree! It was a fun set of clues and I am amazed by the abilities of some of the players who caught very minuscule and mundane clues. It is sad that it is over so abruptly with so many things unanswered... or is it???

If this whole thing is bait for a deeper puzzle it would be amazing. One can dream!

Although I feel my attempt to draw connections from Druegar's Clues (say that 10 times fast) was beginning to make me a bit unhinged, it's something of a relief to feel we're done ;).

I was blown away on how crazy smart many of you are and were able to find some of these clues for example The connections with the images and links.

Do you think the Ranger Legendary is OP? I thought it was on the weaker end in this class.

That really needs to be in Teal.

Others have chimed in already (mostly covering the same line of thinking as I had). But as one of the people that voiced being underwhelmed, I'll answer too.

Obviously, the tokens are already printed, so I had no expectation at all that my feedback would change the token. I was just expressing my thoughts.

Here's the thing though. This token is marked as a Relic. The cost is in line with other Relic tokens (maybe even higher depending on where the fragments and monster bits settle at). So it is pretty natural to compare it to other Relic tokens. Or to compare it to UR tokens and judge whether it is truly worth the additional cost.

Honestly, if the recipe was more in line with the power provided by the token, it probably would have slipped past me that it is towards the low end of the Relic to UR comparison. Or if we hadn't just been debating slot-expanding URs, that probably also would have made me notice less. But this Relic is in a slot that conflicts with an upcoming set bonus that also happens to include slot-expanders and we were just debating it last week.

For the power being provided by Orion's Belt, I do think the recipe should be lowered slightly. Lowering/dropping some of the Trade 2 and reducing the monster bits (maybe any three 2019 bits?) would be appropriate (in my opinion).

As I said in my earlier post though. I definitely plan to make one even if the recipe stays as it is. I want the memento if nothing else.

Someone with more graphics talent than I have will have to do that.

But I couldn’t say Druegars Clues 10 times fast without it morphing into Blues Clues in my mind.

Oddly that's not my concern with it,

it's the x2 bismuth and oil plus aragonite and oh yeah 5k in gold that together makes me hold off. I don't mind the bits per say. Would've been nice to see a way to use up some completion tokens instead of bits but i can get why not.

Just seems steep in resources for what we get.

Do we know if this is transmutable at Indy on Day 1 or is this another post Gen Con only transmute?

This is going to be the biggest holdup for me. After making awakened synergy for my group, rogue necklace, and kilts I am down to my last bismuth and tapped on oil. Im should be ok to make one so long as its transmutable at GHC but no way Im going to be able to swing more then 1 surprise relic. Still good problem to have.

I agree with others that Orion's wont be replacing my frost giant belt (or likely the arcane belt next year) but I think you would be crazy to assume it wont over take them eventually.

But, something else might overtake it eventually also.

After looking at the recipe, I probably won't transmute many of these, maybe none of them. I'll need the 2019 monster bits for my beads, and the oil, bismuth, and aragonite for my Kilts and Teeth. I think our melee classes will stick to frost girdles and spellcasters to arcane belts.

I still think it was a really fun puzzle to solve, and I really like the addition of unique treasure box tokens to enable a relic transmute. I hope we have something similar again next year. :)

I have no problem with the transmute cost on this one. It's perfect. It should include the Fragments and Bits, as it's a special Token and it's a Relic so the other trade goods are fine. I really hope Jeff doesn't pay attention to posts lobbying for a change in the recipe on this one. This one should be all his. If someone thinks the costs outweigh the power level then I say just don't make it.

But this one's a gamble. All it will take is a Legendary Stone or Arcanum Charm or something and then all of a sudden the people that thought the power level wasn't right will be scrambling to acquire more of them or lobbying for a reprint or more expander options.

I have Surtur's Belt equipped. I won't be making this. Even though it is pretty cool. Okay... a lot cool.
