TOPIC: Wizard to hit bonus with specific scroll or spell slide

When attacking with a spell, like Acid Ray (or with a scroll saying the same type AC attack), when it says hit AC 15, I believe that the AC of the target is ignored, but if the wizard has a +5 to hit with ranged does that mean the end result is that the wizard needs to hit only 10 AC?

Yes, and if there is bardsong in effect it gets even easier.

You can also use FoP Bat and Dust of the Elders for a total +8

And use sniper spectacles

To clarify: spells cast from the character card gain the benefit of your ranged to-hit bonus as others have said, but scrolls and spells cast as a scroll do not. Scroll slides always need a natural 15 (or whatever their target is) to hit.

My Wizard ranged hit is actually 13 right now. I am using the Lenses of Fae currently. I use the +1 Mighty Sling so that my ranged damage is 11 (spell damage is 12).

I am using Surtr's Girdle of Fire Giant Strength. Any suggestions on a better belt for he Wizard?

Other than duplication via GLOVES OF THE CABAL or cast as a Free Action via SHIELD OF THE SCHOLAR, spells cast from scrolls are not affected by anything. This means scrolls and spells “cast as a scroll” never gain a To Hit or Damage bonus and may not be modified in any way.

The same would be true for the Cleric as well. I didn't lay out the details but here is what my Cleric's boniness would look like, quite a lot to remember correctly (can't wait for automation).
Spell Damage: +14
Scroll Damage: +2
Healing: Spell +16 Scroll: +4
COLD: -15 Spell: -19
FIRE: -10 Spell: -14
SONIC: -10 Spell: -14
SHOCK: -10 Spell: -14
DARKRIFT: -12 Spell: -16
IMMUNE: Psychic Blast

You may be looking at an older version of the DMG because

Could be posted in token ideas, but I would be fine if there was a token worth slotting for starter to rare level builds that modified scrolls that required sliding a value to just succeed as scrolls that don't.
