TOPIC: Crown of Expertise Stdrd or Free Action?

Sorry if this already has a thread or has been answered. I did search but it was laborious and ultimately unfruitful.

Also if it’s a standard action can the spell be altered? (Spell bonus etc)

It depends whether the ability or spell can be used as a free action

Crown of Expertise from the token database.

The Crown just allows you to use the spell/ability without marking it on the sheet. The functioning of the Crown itself is not an action.

I believe there is a lot of confusion around this. Many people try to use a standard action as a free action from this token, which is not allowed.

It can be modified with spell bonuses if you use it to not mark off a spell. I think it comes from people confusing it with the ring of spell storing.
