Kenban's design is coming along great

Since we have so many minds on this idea lets go next level. What other functionalities would you all like to see this item serve? (pen/pencil holder slot?, grooves for label tags?) Since it seems this would be a traveling piece what about a top that doubles as a token tray? Throw out some suggestions on what you would like to see for the monstrosity that i'm tinkering on.

It'd be great if it had carbine-action with two hundred slots and a compass in the stock.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

For additional features, it would be good to list all the reasons people would want one. That could give some insight on what features are beneficial.

I think some of those reasons have been mentioned already, but it would be good to collect a list.

1. Used to organize tokens you want to transmute or exchange for trade tokens.
2. Put together a build for a particular class.
3. Transport tokens to conventions: through airports, etc. Need to be able to secure them so they don't shift around.
4. Decoration. I'm sure if these had some aesthetic related to True Dungeon it would be more appealing.

I'm sure there's more.

We could print a cover for the tray in transparent ink (filament)... I have some I use for special stuff.

I started printing the tray this morning with a light fill and it was still printing when I left work... estimated time 10 plus hrs... but I did do higher quality than I probably need (turn off max fill, increase nozzle size and layer height... etc).

I will pick it up tomorrow and see how it looks and works with my tokens... I used an electronic caliper to measure a few tokens thickness and found platinums were usually a bit thicker... anyone else experience this anomaly?

I am a firm believer that trying to build something that does everything ends up doing all of its tasks poorly. The primary purpose for this design is to help count and separate tokens. Changes or additions to this design should directly assist with that goal.

For instance number 2, if you wish to use it for this go for it but I will not be adding anything to this design to assist with putting your build together.

Unless I made a mistake the design is symmetrical, if you print two and put a second one on the top it should securely hold your tokens as long as you use some tape or something else to hold the half’s together. But it will likely be more economical to use something else.

I tell my students you are only limited by your creativity.

Sure there are trade-offs but shoot for the stars during the brainstorming process.

I almost spent my weekend CAD'ing up a tray attached to an AR with slots carved into the stock as a joke.

Figured I would provide some more information, I am still working on the design. The original was a little tight and the tokens would fit but you would hold it upside down and they would not fall out which is just way too tight.

Increased the size of the slots and while regular tokens fit now, turns out that relics with the stars around the edge are thicker (likely due to using a different mold) and now they are extremely tight. So expanding it again.

I have also reduced the thickness of the edges and the bottom to reduce plastic usage and print time. I am going to print one myself soon and I will post a picture sometime next week showing off what it looks like with some tokens in it.
