As Jeff previously mentioned , Charm of Avarice is being re-re-released with an RFID chip baked inside. The new version will be available in the first half of 2019. Beginning with Origins 2019, any player wanting to use a Charm of Avarice will be required to use the newest version.

The exchange is free. Players will be able to make the exchange at Origins (and other TD appearances where token exchanges are done) or by mail. If done by mail, you must pay for shipping, but as always, you may combine the Charm of Avarice exchange with another order and not pay any additional shipping charge.

The last day to make the exchange is December 1, 2020. Please note, 12/1/2020 is not the last day you can use the 2016 version. Starting at Origins 2019, the 2016 version of Charm of Avarice will not be usable in game.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

How will this change what we do in Coaching/Training?
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Coaches will need to tell owners of the 2016 version they need to exchange it. After 12/1/20 they will need to inform owners of the 2016 that it's not usable no longer exchangeable. Call a CC or Dir. if needed.

The plan is for trainers to have RFID scanners to verify the new CoA's legitimacy.

Didn't the first post say the 2016 version would not be usable starting with Origins 2019? So the no longer usable date would be June 11, 2019?

If Origins is the first time we can exchange them but the old ones can't be used at Origins, will there be some sort of way to get that exchange done before the first runs happen?

Also, can there be a visual distinction between the current CoA and the new chipped ones?

Not digging the new art but I love the RFID Chip, hopefully less hassle than removing out of binders when it now can be scanned inside. I like how it eliminates cheaters.

Thank you to all of the losers who cheated the game, as usual you ruined it for the majority and made it harder for everyone while costing Jeff/TD money to chip these and buy equipment to scan them.
This really needs a RAH G.I.Joe PSA commercial.
