Older trade tokens 5 years 7 months ago #1

Do the older trade tokens have to be traded in for the new style? I heard a rumor a while ago that they did but maybe I missed it in the forums. any help would be awesome.

Yes, they do - tokendb FTW!

"After December 1st, 2018, the old versions will no longer be exchangeable and may not be used in transmuted recipes."

In 2017, all Trade and Reserve tokens were redesigned with new high-rez artwork and chocolate-brown backs. Owners of the old, gold-backed versions can use their existing stock in transmuted recipes before December 1st, 2018. One-to-one exchanges can be done starting in September 2017. After December 1st, 2018, the old versions will no longer be exchangeable and may not be used in transmuted recipes. There is no charge to make the exchange, but if you want them to be mailed to you, you will need to pay for shipping. If you add this exchange as part of another order, they can all be shipped for the same price. You may also make the exchange in person at most TD events.

I have some to trade in as well (accidentally bought an auction with old trade goods not listed as old). Do you just make a trade-in request with the forms like I was grinding 25 of a trade good but only but the gold backed good in the bag in lieu of the 25 units? Do I note this before sending them in?

I've sent in tokens to be mulched before (twice) but is this process any different? Thanks.

I've personally never done that before. I used them all in recipes, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

That should work. The forms might have the gold backed version as an alternate recipe.

If you have gold backs I think you can still just exchange them.
Semper Gumby, Always flexible.

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

Nothing special - just add in the number of Darkwood Plank or whatever you are sending in to your cart, thrown your old ones in a ziplock bag that has a paper label saying “6 Darkwood plank” or whatever the quantity is and drop it in the mail.

Sorry about that man. Had I known these wouldn’t be usable after this year, I totally would have mentioned it. I really didn’t think there was a difference. (Also thought the pics were pretty clear, sorry again).
