Genuinely curious at this point, who actually plans to keep Shadowskin cloak? Why/why not and what would be replacements?

I expect others to want to new version, is likely due to perception of how good or is it as a UR upgrade over a rare/transmute (the melee cloaks come to mind).

I'm getting rid of mine as i rather have the increased saves cloak of pain (rare, +3 saves, 2dmg if you make a save). Failing a save is starting to feel more debilitating. I was hoping for +2 at least as that way it feels like a +2 cloak of resistance with a once a game upside at UR.

I don't mind value tanking due to straight reprints which i've advocated for every cycle as i rather see the 'good stuff' made available or be accessible. Having a $200+ goto pyp and a nerf is not cool. To the point i will be looking to clean some tokens out. As it's deemed that OP, i'd rather see it banned and get 2 pyp's for the perceived value, not the modified reprint.

Assuming it stays in the recipe, I'll keep mine until I use it there. But for actually using a cloak, I plan to swap to the same cloak you are, for the same reasons.

Cloak of Shadowskin has been a token on my wishlist for quite a while. I was very excited about the reprint.

I fear that the +3 cloak is a trap. There will probably be situations where you would have rolled a save anyway, even without the +3 (or +2 if we're comparing it to CoS, +1 if comparing to Cloak of Resistance). In that instance, you're taking 2 damage for nothing. Therefore, the frequency with which saving throws has to be made should be analyzed closely.

I was planning to get a CoS, but now it will have to wait. I have to plan out my purchases very very carefully. In the meantime, I was gifted a Shade Cloak about this time last year. I'm going to continue using that until I figure out an upgrade.

If I had one I'd trade it in, and I might actually need one for the legendary but I dont really see the current version commanding much of a premium, such is life though.

I feel you there, i usually buy a year behind unless it's a URTE. I actually made some trades this con season and feel 'caught up'. There's always stuff i want/use but little in way of must have. Looking for a death pouch/tulz but admittedly not wanting to spend pyp prices on them.

I main dwarf/monk and run con boosters so HP always seemed a usable resource to me.

I haven't decided myself. I know I am sad about it changing so drastically, but I totally get that it was way overpowered, but it definitely got nuked from orbit.

It's good, but it is far more situational now, and no longer a must slot.

The problem is, I don't know what else to slot as a replacement - I have been using a Dougal's cloak of stars and the shadowskin (with the charm of broaching), but maybe this will help open up a valuable charm slot while I start scrounging up a better cloak.

but... maybe? I have a lot of PYP I have to pick up this year (to make up ground from the hit to my poor Lens of Divine sight :silly: )

If any token is a must wear then either the slot has no competition or it is probably OP. It was unlikely to go from a must wear to another must wear.

Per the topics question - I am swapping mine for a new one because it is like having a reusable combat Savior Stone tokendb.com/token/savior-stone/ that also adds +1 Saves.

As I have a charm of brooching I am very attached to, I will probably be keeping it and wearing it.

I like the idea of saving any hit I choose.

If I were only wearing one cloak, it would be a MUCH harder sell.

Never had one. I will be getting one to sit in box till I might be able to make the legendary as I do with most of the UR required for legendaries.

It's still a great token so I am keeping until something better comes along, it's no longer non-negotiable but giving up that free hit is still hard to do. I'll need to get a second one to make the Necklace.

My initial plan was to get two. Now I will probably get one.

I'm more likely to throw it on a build for one of my son's friends. I can't see dropping two points of save to (maybe) avoid one hit per game.

Pick 1 - Shaed, or Cos?
