Version 8.9.0 has been released for IOS and Android, and includes the following changes:

1. Added completion tokens (at least all the ones I know about)
2. Corrected a problem with a 2021 token.
3. Corrected a problem with Charm of Blissward
4. Pre-generated characters have reverted to the standard builds
5. Enable Event has been disabled (you can enter any keyword, but it will have no effect)
6. Updated the Special token to have the specified benefit

These changes are intended for support for Gamehole Con.

When I add Charm of Targeting to my Elf Wizard build, it is not adding +2 to my spell damage. (Token Db indicates that ranged damage should apply to missiles and spells)

I do appreciate that I can still go to virtual TD mode and play with my build, even though its in default status.

Edit: The issue with Charm of Targeting occurs on both my android phone and IOS IPad.

I just discovered this as well. Charm of Targeting is adding +2 damage to missile weapons but not spell damage. Thanks!

I just discovered this as well. Charm of Targeting is adding +2 damage to missile weapons but not spell damage. Thanks!


For a wizard, until this gets fixed, I see two options.
One, Just tell the coach that your spell damage is off 2 (and explain why). Probably the easiest option.
Two, Equip the Folio of Focus (assumes you don't actually plan to use a folio in the run). That will fix your spell damage. Your missile damage will be updated correctly from the charm. Your healing and polymorph totals will be off 2, but as a wizard you don't have any healing spells. It all comes down to whether or not you plan to polymorph. Some wizards do, most don't.

It kind of comes down to how much it bothers you that the spell damage isn't displayed correctly in the app. I don't see it as a big issue. I'm sure we'll work through it.

Version 8.10.0 has been released for both IOS and Android with the following changes:

1. Saving Throws are split into 3 buttons. It originally was just 1 button that rolled all 3, but with the dice rolling, Fort, Reflex and Will need to be separate activation buttons.

2. Rogue Sneak Attack: This is now a spell like ability. The available count is dependent on tokens (UR, Relic and Legendary Rogue tokens allow for 2 Sneak Attacks in the same room). The checkoffs reset when the room number is changed. Originally it showed the Sneak Attack total damage below the main damage roll every time, but now it only shows up when Sneak Attack is activated.

3. Rogue Flanking: The Consumable list (I really should rename this) now includes a 'Receive Rogue Flanking' option. When selected, the next attack, melee, ranged or polymorph, is rolled 3 times with the highest roll taken. When the To Hit numbers are displayed, the Flanking is reported on the same line as an abbreviation. The option needs to be selected for each attack, if the rogue continues to flank. It doesn't affect the app, but flanking only may be used by one character, rather than the whole party. (as I understand the ruling for VTD)

4. 5th Level Fighter Weapon Specialization: When a melee or ranged attack is rolled, and compared to the creature AC, the first time a miss is recorded, the attack is automatically re-rolled. This may only happen once and is the first time a miss is detected. This resets for each room, so may be used once in each room. Like Flanking, a notation is made on the screen with the attack result indicating that Weapon Specialization was used.

5. Token files have been updated with all the completion tokens in the TokenDB.

Several of these changes are required for the new dice rolling coming in January! Stay tuned for more changes for the new VTD modules next year.

Went to the app store on my android phone. It said the last available update was 9/21.

Edit: Easily found and applied the update on my iPad. Maybe android just needs another day or so?

Timing? User Error? Take your pick. Just went out again into the app store and there was the update. I swear, it was the exact same steps I took less than an hour ago, yet there it was. All is good. Thanks!!!

It can take time for the update to propagate across the Google servers. How long varies from one update to the next. Glad you were able to eventually get the update.

Can the saving throw buttons be placed where the one used to be on the right frame, make them squares under each bonus amount?

Putting three buttons on the left makes the need for scrolling the app in combat a must, I keep accidentally clicking the saving throw too. It's a problem for me unless the on-screen data handles everything automatically negating the need to look at the app numbers.

Scrolling down in combat to see SA and Crits makes it easy to miss numbers off-screen if there's no obvious indicator of off-screen data and you're not paying attention to the roll numbers. Some sort of conditional or permanent scroll bar(s) would be helpful for any device that can't show the whole app screen at one time.

The short answer is no. The buttons have to be large enough to easily select each one, without accidently tapping the wrong one. I am already pressing the limits on button size. Adding the 3 buttons at the present size on that section makes scrolling down to spells more tedious than it is already.

As a Dwarf Fighter using Viv’s Amulet of Noble Might and an Axe of the Dwarvish Kings, I was not critting on a 19. Against the same monster, a 20 did crit, so it's not because of crit immunity
