TOPIC: Solution to carry/organize tokens through TD?

Solution to carry/organize tokens through TD? 7 years 7 months ago #1

Does anyone have any tips for keeping tokens organized through your dungeon runs? I know there used to be TD bandoliers, but don't see them still available. Anyone know of any products to buy or token-hacks to make our runs easier?
Thanks!!!

There a few crafty people that frequent the forums. You can have a bandolier made for a decent price or use a dansco binder to store your tokens. Some players use magnetic arm bands for their weapons and consumables. I use a dansco with a homemade cover (vinyl) that makes it look like a spellbook. It has a removable strap, so I can carry it and slide if I wish.

The item I use to organize my build does not seem to be available anymore online. But you might be able to find it in your local bestbuy still:

Kirk over at tdTavern has some very nice and secure binder pages for tokens.

For stocking up on potions and scrolls, I've seen some members have then in storage tubes, but I dunno which they would recommend.

For consumables, I found these very handy -> Airtite Coin Holder Storage Container .

For my main build, I use a Dansco binder with the 42 mm pages .

For next year, my goal is to find an efficient way to carry alternate builds so any suggestions/ideas would be great.

If binia is still selling bandoliers/sashes, I may pick on up as well but I like carrying my tome of tokens.
The lesson is this - the game is rigged. The cards are stacked. The dice are loaded.

Bandoliers - ask Binia

My favorite (requires minimal craft skills)

Get some cardboard, self-stick shelf paper and an old backgammon box/purse box/art box (the kind that comes with a layer of markers and/or crayons) and make a "spell book"

There are other options, like Whitman coin wallets and the leather wrappers that Molda makes for them.

Certain prescription bottles work well for packing in stacks of scrolls and potions

This looks like what I need for my alternate builds. What are the dimensions of it once folded?

My group actually thinks I'm going to sew custom bandoliers with magnetic holders, multiple pockets, and slot for quick reference sheet. 10 of them. Suuuuure thing guys! ;)

9.5" x 3" x 1.25"

Its about 1 row short of what you'd ideally want for an average full build, so I do have a few tokens doubled up in pockets.

i use the whitman binders and pages from wizard coin supply ( link ).

i've found some 40mm pages that can hold 12 tokens per page (even though the image on the website shows it as 9 per page, it has always shipped to me as 12/page), and the binders i have can hold 6 pages easily, which is usually enough for 3 classes per binder, plus another 2 binders for gear, +level, and +treasure items.

i can carry the 6 binders in a fairly slim backpack without much trouble.

Talk to Binia on the forum... she makes the sashes (bandoliers).

Cargo pants. Binia's token sashes. And a backpack for all the equipment that you don't need to show in the dungeon (and the non-token stuff you used to keep in your pockets...which has, of course, been replaced by tokens).
this is not a signature.

I still use vinyl coin wallets (24 count) still cheap enough that i don't mind replacing them when they inevitably wear out. More importantly they can be rubber banded and stuffed into pockets during runs. I've never cared for binders as i prefer to have my handsfree during runs. The wallets let me keep stuff sorted, show off the stuff i need to quickly and still keep 2 hands free (i play ranger/monk).

Various options, comes down to what you prioritize as the issue during a run. Sorting, ease of carrying, massive build or just keeping few key tokens handy.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
