TOPIC: Token rarity distribution in treasure box

Token rarity distribution in treasure box 8 years 1 month ago #1

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has the distribution for rarity/type of tokens that is in the treasure box (official or unofficial).

Also was wondering if the rogue box has the same or a different distribution.

I know this was discussed somewhere a while back but the advanced search in these forums is near worthless.

There was talk about the distribution being different this year because of the change in gp tokens, but I think that was just talk, nothing official.

Previously for Gen Con the numbers were
38% Uncommon
38% Rare
23% Monster Trophies
1% "Special"

At WYC the numbers were slightly different because there were no Monster Trophies but instead Golden Fleece at a lower rate.

I don't think we have gotten official numbers in a number of years.

Can anybody find that thread? I thought specials were going to be increased, at least the low-end specials.

Last year definitely had lower percentage of monster trophies though.

I would say maybe... we do not know everyone's computer skills and typing skills...
You don't have to outrun the monster, just the guy next to you - The buddy system.

Have you checked the Token DataBase ?

Just a heads up not everyone can see that thread. It is in the Lords and Ladies section.

While were somewhat on the topic do we know if Jeff is doing the golden fleece thing or monster bits with the WYC treasure this year. A lot of people held back their WYC draws last year due to the lack of bits.

This was Jeff's complete, verbatim post:

Jeff Martin wrote: I'd like to improve the way we do Treasure Coins in 2016. Here are the basics.

1) Treasure Coins are no longer tied to success in a room. All players get 3 TC inside the Epilogue Room -- plus any extra that magic gives them. Treasure stamps are not used.

2) With this more stable and predictable model, I can make sure we have the same levels of token rarities from year to year.

3) The Treasure Generators would have the following composition:

25% Uncommons
35% Rares
35% Monster Bits
1% UR
2.5% low-level Transmute
0.5% Relic
0.5% 5,000 GP Bar
0.5% 10,000 GP Bar

So, basically if you roll a "20" on your draw, you will get something cool.

I hope this will help players have more fun and be less worried about treasure while making the results more even from year to year.

Thoughts?
