I will probably end up doing a forum auction for one once I have some in-hand since we have no idea what they might be worth...

I mean $1000 might be too cheap or $100 might be too much for all we know.

That makes sense. I imagine the first one to sell will go for the most, not unlike Golden Tickets. Though I can tell you $100 wouldn't be too much. I would pay $100 right now for it. We shall see what they stabilize at. The first one to sell though is going to get the most money is my bet. One after a few sell (if a few do sell) will we now what the market bears.

Well we could have a few hitting the market this weekend. My package from TD with the modules is due to arrive tomorrow. So others should be getting theirs too. We will see what the supply/demand will be. I don't think it will be quite like GTs because there is an advantage to getting those early -- you can pick your run and class. Still, you may be right that prices will start high if there is concern about the available supply of them. But at the same time, Jeff saying they aren't uber-powerful, and them doing nothing until you collect a set should keep prices a bit lower. My wild guess is it will settle around $400.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

I'm going to try out a forum auction:

truedungeon.com/forum?view=topic&catid=584&id=242391

Let's see what happens...
My online token shop: www.tdtavern.com

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

It will be interesting to see whether the one on the forums or the one on Ebay sells for more.

I would guess the one on the forums just because it will end first, but we shall see.

I don't imagine you'll see tons of them being sold. I know I'm keeping one or two for myself which leaves only a few to sell. I bet fewer than five people received more than five of these tokens.

We pay the same prices you do, or at least that's what I pay. The $8k pack is the best deal we get, which gives a bonus wish ring and now this orb... I'm not aware of anybody getting any discount off of published prices.

I pay the list prices on the TD store website.

People sell commons for $1 due to the substantial labor in storing, organizing, listing, responding to sales inquiries, packaging, etc.. I bet you could get someone to sell you bulk commons at 3 to 5 for a dollar if you were willing to buy a bunch.

I've got a lot of great commons listed on my forum store for just 49 cents each. :)

Jason Smith wrote: To Matt, who asked me if I got mad about a $200K Mercedes I can't afford: No. People who buy them are stupid. I've got a 1998 Honda Civic I paid $18K for. It's lasted 17 years and I hope it lasts another 17.

I think you missed the point of my post. Just because YOU can't afford it is no reason to be upset with the people who make it available at that price. You don't spend as much money as these people, why should you have any claim to this token?

Full disclosure: I've spent about $400 on tokens in the 7 years I've been playing. I enjoy the fact that there are uber expensive tokens to help fund this awesome hobby. Sure I'd like to own them but in no way can I justify paying what they are worth. Just like you and your Honda Civic, I get by with a couple purples and a few reds and they have lasted me many years of fun and excitement.
