At best you may get one more round of combat in the room, but if your team isn't coordinated enough to get their pucks and line up quickly, that round may be enough to save you. There will be far more instances of lost sliders, or people fumbling through pockets for pucks, and their will be numerous times people leave their slider in the previous room and have to go back.

It would easier to allow B/W proxies of legendaries, as long as the legendary token is easily produced upon request.

The whole thing is pretty delicate - as someone mentioned Jeff doesn't want the sliders to be out there in mass for people to start weekly practice sessions.... The proxy idea might be a slippery slope.

It occurs to me that guard railing around the slider board of some type or design may be a reasonable alternative to the whole problem...

Noodle on that one for a bit!

I think the problem is more tokens flying out of sliders as sliders going off the board.

Except for Raven's Blink Dogs of course. :P

I like all the ideas that we have seen here, and in fact there is a new thread on the topic of custom pucks:

However I still feel like the focus on weapons ignores other very valuable Legendaries that might be lost or stolen inside or outside of the dungeon. With tokens like the RoSP possibly being worth upwards of $4k there is the real possibility that one day a True Dungeon player will be mugged, have their bag stolen, etc, possibly just to get the True Dungeon tokens. It would be great if we had a registry to make that a non-lucrative endeavor.

Or even simply losing your token collection (this happened to somebody at GenCon this year) or your house burning down. As a build with Legendaries could be worth over $10k it makes sense to worry about stuff like this.

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

On the one hand, this crosses into the insurance business. As others have noted, this creates a whole new set of liabilities.

However, I have heard anecdotal stories that as it is, even if you have actual insurance (such as with shipping) it is hard to get tokens valued properly (or even at "market value").

As the producer of tokens, TD is in a unique position regarding potential insurance. If you had a third party insurer, they would actually need to cough up around market value to replace the loss. For TD, replacing a lost token is literally the cost of making that token (or slapping a numbered sticker on to the token base).

So IF TD were to ever insure high value tokens, they should be able to do it at a FRACTION of the cost that third-party insurers could do it for.

I would stay far away from calling it insurance, simply a token registration and replacement program. Free to register your numbered legendary or RoSP, say $50 to replace it if lost or stolen.

Still it would be hard to "prove" someone really owns the token they registered. (Maybe you would have to stop by in person at GenCon / Who's Yer Con to show the token).

Plus you would need a process for transferring ownership.

Going forward I'd like to see numbered Legendaries and they are automatically registered and linked to your truedungeon.com account when you get them. Existing owners can trade it in at WYC or GenCon for a numbered one which is then registered to you.

There could be a web page that allows transfers. Owner logs into their truedungeon.com account, clicks on the Legendary by name and number, enters the email of the recipient. The recipient gets an email and clicks when they receive the token, completing the transfer. The recipient could be charged say $10 for the transfer.

If a Legendary is reported lost/stolen/destroyed the registered owner gets a new number and a new token for whatever the fee is ($50?). The old token name/number goes on (hopefully a fairly short list) of tokens to watch out for. I know coaches are busy but perhaps it is something they could watch out for. If your token is on the lost/stolen list you can't use it.

Additionally, the lost/stolen list would be public (just the names of the tokens and the numbers). If we see a Legendary on eBay we could cross-reference the number and make sure it isn't on the list.
