TOPIC: Scroll Case/Tube Clarification

Scroll Case/Tube Clarification 10 years 7 months ago #1

Sorry to make a thread for such a minor issue (although, it may turn out to be an important issue).

The Bone Scroll Case protects all scrolls, similar to how an Alchemist Pouch protects all potions.

The Sea Dragon Scroll Tube allows scrolls to be stored and taken out and used underwater without disintegrating. But does it also protect scrolls from all damage while they are inside the tube, just like the Bone Scroll Case?

It is probably obvious, but I'd like to know explicitly. The entries on the token database, token guide, nor underwater rules explicitly say that it protects scrolls from anything other than water damage.

Also, while I'm at it, does the Alchemist's Pouch also protect your oils and salves? Or just potions?

Yes, the Scroll Tube Protects them.

Alchemist Pouch . . . dunno.

Sorry, but from what I see the token database entry doesn't really say that. It says it protects them from water damage. In addition, the database says it only functions underwater.

Again, I realize it probably does protect them from everything and my question is "obvious"...but if it's obvious then why doesn't the database, NOR the token guide, NOR the underwater rules describing the Sea Dragon Scroll Tube actually say so? All of these sources only say it protects them from water, with wording that implies it doesn't protect them from anything else.

Thank you for pointing out the inconsistency. The TDb entry for Sea Dragon Scroll Tube has been updated
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

BSC is a common. I have a few of each, just in case.

Now that there are at least 4 sources of official token rulings, maybe there should be a sticky thread to ask these things?

TD should use AD&D's bookworms in a dungeon, so those scroll tubes are useful for once.

They wouldn't even need a big monster prop. The room DM could just throw some rubber worms at the players, yell "They're eating your scrolls," and watch the spellcasters freak out.
