TOPIC: Off-Season token uses

Off-Season token uses 10 years 7 months ago #1

I did a search but could not find something similar.

What does everyone use their tokens for during the off-season?
  • Treasure for RPGs
  • Throne of Tokens
  • Poker
  • Body Armor

Pressing the little bags that we get with tokens between the boxes of tokens. Or anything else that needs to be pressed!

As for off-season it doesn't last long. In a month or two the new 2014 token ideas will be out and Jeff will have the set out to the forums for discussion. This will go on till close to December. After that you just have to wait 2 months till pre-orders are in and you have tokens in hand in Jan/Feb. Then it's sorting, trading, drooling over tokens till August. :)

I'm toying with the idea of using them as all of the equipment in a Pathfinder campaign.
I finally found a use for the Crown Royal bags ... Tokens!

I put them in sandbags and line the back of my pick up truck for the winter months. The added weight really helps keep my tires on the road.

I hear Patrick Rothfuss will sign a book if you mail it to him along with a gift. I bet if you send him some of your common tokens or others along with a blank book you will find your book and tokens transmuted into a signed version of the book you sent :).

I'm planning to collect a bunch of polymeric ducks to make some duck armor
Do you serve a purpose, or purposely serve?

I would like to see some work done on a True Dungeon table top game where the tokens were used.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

I actually toyed around with the idea of using my Dwarven Forge tiles to build a scaled representation of a dungeon that would simulate one of the past year's modules and use similar traps and combats that were in the module. As players defeated each room they would get "treasure draws" from a sack that they could then apply to their character's equipment as they progressed.

Of course this was using a mashup of tactical D&D 4e rules using the stats on the cards as the starting points of each pregen that you can play.

I never did complete the game, but maybe I could do something fun with pathfinder rules as I've been playing that a lot more recently.

I sleep on the pile - they shift to mold around my body.
I can't help being a gorgeous fiend. It's just the card I drew.
