new players/trading read this 10 years 8 months ago #1

First off welcome..If you are here (and reading this) you have now been sucked into the world of token trading

I would like to offer my advise if you want/need it

especially when trading

Yes this will take me out of a lot of trades but it is a sacrifice that i will be willing to make to help new people get on board

My advice is always take it slow. You are right though. Players should feel free to contact other forumites or post trades without posting the trading partne.

there are a lot of very trustworthy people on the forums and not one of them will be upset at a new trader wanting to double or triple check the trades are fair.

you now have 11 months to get trades done, no rush

and welcome to the forums of True Dungeon

I decided to play this year and started buying/trading before GenCon, and Lazlo's advice was extremely valuable to me.

Lazlo is a good guy, and despite his tendency to play the rogue he is IMO 100% trustworthy. He also has a good grasp of what is worth what and I would encourage anyone who isn't sure about a deal to run it by him first.

I'm actually new to trading on the forums. Just did my first trade and mailing out the tokens today!

Lazlo and others are always willing to give advice on pricing!

Also, read the forums for trades, selling, buying, etc... you will see price differences, heated, I mean good discussions on pricing. :)

Lazlo is very trustworthy as are most of the major traders/forumites in general.

I also find it extremely useful for most tokens to compare prices from most of the big traders - that is people like DarkRose50, CommanderFuron, PaulDK, Lazlo, Eversuede and MikeSteele.

I've found that checking these threads at least gives you a good idea of the range of pricing going on. Now for something like 2013 ingredients, dungeon completion tokens and the volunteer tokens, I think it's going to take a bit of waiting to see where they even out and it's a speculative market currently.

What kind of advice? Being on new player (soon to be new trader) I would not even know where to start to ask for advice.

At this time, I purchased two large set of tokens ($250) to get two of the three Templar pieces (Armor and Shield) and will need to see if I can trade for the Helmet. But asside from that, not enough experience to know what advice I need.
while (horse(state) == 'dead')
{
beat();
}

hi Jeff! welcome to the forums.

I'd suggest starting a thread, introducing yourself, saying what tokens you have and what you'd like to do in the game.

like for example what classes you wish to play and what tokens you are after

then read the forums for awhile, join in on the talks and look at tokendb.com/

that's a pretty useful website

some advice you might look for:

value of tokens
what tokens to use
how to package tokens for shipping
who are reliable traders

I'm sure there are other questions. If you have any at all, Jeff, the forum is always glad to answer!

This is important! Proper packing saves a lot of grief.
