How much do the prices fluctuate on tokens? Looking back at selling history on ebay it seems they have jumped quite a bit before GenCon, that or I am way too generous in my offers. :)

Yes, tokens prices do seem to rise as GENCON approaches and are lowest in the winter. But this is not an absolute.

I was at the Gaming Etc booth, picked up a +2 Dwarven Dire Axe for $100, but they had a medallion of Greyhawk for $300... *confused*

Seems like most their other strings were pretty close to other prices.

That is because gaming etc has not yet shifted to the charm necklace reality. While the MoG is still a fantastic token the charm necklace has reduced its value.

I bought a Girdle of Frost Giant Strength this week for $300, gaming Etc had it for 325 yesterday, today it's 250. People are getting such good pulls that it's flooding the market and causing prices to drop.

Do prices usually drop this fast on things? Honestly I am not sure if I will invest any more in tokens.

Sometimes this happens. The price will go back up. One thing that will make it happen is that the GoFrostGS will no longer be able to be made after December of this year.

Once that happens there will be no more of them. The Legendary, (Fire Giant Strength) can be made for as long as the tokens are around but you MUST have the GoFrostGS to make the GoFireGS.

After December the Relic is only going to get more rare.

Next year the Eldritch set comes out. That will help Driuds and Rangers. The Wild Vestments, druid only, might skyrocket after that. You just never know but you can make a few predictions if you follow what is going on.

I don't think this particular year is quite that simple. There has been a marked increase in quantity of ultra rares and relics. This has upset many people.

The recent crash is pretty frightening. Although I do suspect it will stabilize and prices will go up again (for example, many of the power tokens released were grabbed by newbies who have no clue and will just forget about them in a junk drawer or toss them out, hence protecting the supply). But I don't think they will recover fully.

Some damage has been done here, not only to the market but to reputation.

Although I'm glad to have supported True Dungeon with my token purchases, I am now much less likely to do so. At least, not nearly to the degree in the past. The fact that 3 newbies were given more URs and Relics in 30 seconds than I earned over several years and thousands of dollars of work...was not a pleasant feeling.

I was actually thrilled to see a newbie (first run ever!) player on my team tonight pull a Charm of Heroism. Yes it took me a long time to make the two I did for a friend and me. That still did not in any way lessen the joy I had in telling him what he pulled.

He was suddenly asking many more questions about tokens, what they were and how to obtain them. Looks like in that case another token lover might have been born.

Part of my Man with the Blue Feather was to get more people looking at the forums. It seems to have worked. One very disturbing thing I found was that only one DM out of all the TD people that dealt with the Blue Feather party even had seen the topic. Only one person out of ten that work at the dungeon even bothered to periodically come to the forums.
