TOPIC: Your favorite way to inventory tokens?

Your favorite way to inventory tokens? 11 years 9 months ago #1

Lovely spreadsheet I've seen floating around here, TD's own token tool on the site, index cards...what do you use?

I keep a small ziplock baggie for each class, my gp in a small plastic box and the rest in a series of crownroyal bags until I can send them in for trade goods. I also just invested in a set of 10 generic coin wallets to replace the ziplock bags.

I'm going thru my tokens now, and Justin counted my gold. Only 4435 gp. I am going to have some trouble making relics if any of them are good for spellcasters. We'll see how much I can find in the dungeon!

Personally I clear a very large table, then sort them into rarity (common, UC, Rare) then put them in ziploc bags.

Then I take each bag and sort it by categories (weapons, armor, potions, ammo, scrolls, gear, GP, and maybe misc), put what i've got into a spreadsheet, and then into some sort of container (Plano 11 case you can find at Home Depot works great!).

I'm guessing that when you are packing the containers you will roughly remember what goes in each and if you get the Plano 11 - then it's clear and a bit easier to use that way. Also it's got great dividers.

Ziplock bags galore, a few of those little fleece bags, and some coin collector pages in a binder. Always have my eye out for something better.

Storage - I have some old Dragon Dice starter boxes piled on a cheap bookcase I got from Walmart. I alternate the lids and bottoms to make a nice design -tokens are in ziplocs sorted by rarity and year.

Transport - poker chip cases. Also got a metal "Deal or No Deal" case from the dollar store and threw out the innards. Split paper towel tubes in half to make little racks for tokens - that's what's full of my half of a bunch of deals I'll conclude this week.

Inventory - well, there I'm stumped. For my personal collection I just printed out the token year book and checked off the tokens I have. Stuff for sale is listed on my trade thread and/or my website. But there's still a pile of loose random bits that I don't know what to do with. But when people ask me what I'm looking for - well, it gets messy. A nice spreadsheet seems the way to go.
