I think the $400-$500 range is very reasonable. I would not sell mine for less than $600.

Up until now I'd have said the top value would be around $150, but since one just sold for over $400 that price has clearly gone up. I wonder if this price will bring more to Ebay. It will be interesting to see what others might go for.

These tokens are purely status symbols. There are 10 token designs and 3 or 4 copies of each design in circulation. It would be interesting to do a count and see how many are still controlled by active players.

I saw Jill wearing (it looked like) 4 of them.

I assume Smak has all ten but he has never admitted to that.

Jeff is thought to have kept a full set for himself but he hasn't talked about them in a while.

These tokens are infused with the essence of coolness. Wearing one makes you smarter, taller, faster, better looking, and just plain sexier. Keeping one in a binder at home (even if you don't bring it to the Con) is like sustained release True-Dungeon-Awesome all year 'round. The tokens themselves are a chip of TD history, and only the geekiest of the geeky are worthy of touching them (I use gloves to handle mine, hoping that some day I will be truly worthy.)

They have no in-game effect, though their owners have been known to receive the occasional knowing wink from TD staff and the longing stares of lesser NPCs.

I think there are 16 different ones, and I'm pretty sure Smak is still looking for a few more to complete his set - it would be neat to see all of them together if he ever does complete a set.

So - who else would love to see a new set of wooden Artisan Tokens at GENCON next year??

I think Gary has at least one. I remember too that some kid won one for really cheap. It was one of those cases where people didn't realize that no one else had bid on that particular token.
