I think the Amulet of Wonder and the Special are the only tokens that have temporary effects that last just the one year, and can change the following year. All the effects the other tokens grant are permanent and unchanging, so you should get a bonus level from the Might Set as long as you use it. The only caveat would be that you can only get one bonus level, so if you get something else that can raise you a level (like the Ranger or Druid having two Eldritch Items), you will still only go up one level.


Special only lasts one adventure though, right?

Right, you turn Specials in and they only last one Adventure, while the Amulet of Wonder is a permanent.

The Amulet has a "different cool effect each year", but the UR token Specials are REALLY especially special!

(wish I had one, but I'd probably hesitate on turning it in!)

Although, if I remember right, they've been discouraging or just not allowing Special / Rumor tokens to be turned in for the past couple of years.

I haven't heard of them disallowing the UR special. The only ones which haven't been in use are the old common/uncommon Specials, and the Major/Minor rumor tokens.

the UR special is still usable..the other older wooden specials are not..along with the rumor ones

The old wooden Specials are still usable, they are just treated as Rumor Tokens. And since they are far too rare and cool to use as Rumor tokens, I'd recommend not trading them in for that. I actually thought they should be allowed to be traded in as substitutes for the Ultra-Rare Special, since they were probably nearly as Rare as the UR version.
