TOPIC: Trio of might worth the cost?

Forgive my newbish question. I've seen that equipping the trio of might will raise your character by one level this year, and looking at the 5th level character cards it seems like a very powerful buff. What I'm curious to know is if this combo power will remain in effect during years to come or if it's just for this year alone?

If it will keep me a level ahead in years to come then I can probably justify the several hundred dollars it will cost to obtain. However if it's only for 2011 and then next year I'd have to collect an entirely different set of 3 URs to get the extra level... then it's just too rich for my blood.

As long as you have 3 pieces of Might equipped you will be bumped up a level.

For years to come it will work, just like the Horn of Plenty and the Might sets is heafed hardware for people who is continue to go True Dungeon for years to come and more. Just my opinion on it.

The might set level bonus will be good forever. This is one of those rare opportunites (like the Horn of Plenty) to get something that will greatly improve your character for many years.

And Jeff was mean (to my budget) because he did this in the same year he also has the "Ring of Riches" and "Wil's Dragonheart", two other tokens that have huge permanent bonuses. So there were way too many good tokens this year.

Its not just a level boost. Having 3 or more pieces of the Might Set has other permenant boosts aswell.

Three pieces = Level Boost
Four pieces = Level Boost and an additional +2 melee damage.
Five Pieces = Level Boost and an additional +4 melee damage.

(And before this year, there were only three 'planned' pieces of the Might set. Orb, Crown, and Scepter. The Boots and Belt were a, to me, ugly surprise considering I'd planned my purchases around there being only those three pieces.)

I agree with Raywind. I guess it was good for new players, but I was disappointed the might set suddenly expanded.

so it's confirmed that this is NOT going to be a temporary thing? I don't want to start investing in Might gear to have that trio bonus disappear on me later

I think the Amulet of Wonder and the Special are the only tokens that have temporary effects that last just the one year, and can change the following year. All the effects the other tokens grant are permanent and unchanging, so you should get a bonus level from the Might Set as long as you use it. The only caveat would be that you can only get one bonus level, so if you get something else that can raise you a level (like the Ranger or Druid having two Eldritch Items), you will still only go up one level.

Righty. Once set bonuses are announced, they're locked in. Aside from the two variable items Mike Steele mentioned above, no set bonus has ever been down-graded.

For my money, it is the most powerful set, and probably a very satisfying and excellent addition if you're looking to play TrueDungeon for years to come- because it is a 5th level bump, and there many ways to mix and match set items, it is flexible, and should always be useful. I'm expecting it hold its trade value as well.

It is, however, a sizable investment, I would recommend you think carefully about the benefits between 4th and 5th level, perhaps comparing the character sheets two side-by-side. Some classes are no-brainers (A free reincarnation for a Druid? Awesome!) and some are perhaps not.

For example, I typically play a Rogue. This year, I am not going to wear my Might Set. Instead, I'm going to lend it to our Cleric; I think the additional spells he'll gain will be more useful to the party than my ability to flank.
