TOPIC: 2006 tokens?

Re: 2006 tokens? 18 years 1 month ago #85

yeah, you know how orphans love their gruel... and, it's perfect for the theme of the next few years, as far as the adventure goes.
There is one "game of chance" we will possibly offering at times in the Tavern. We have a volunteer who wants to run the Three Dragon Ante game. We would "get around" the gambling rules by not having any entry fee, playing with chips, and the winner gets a draw from a token bag.

NOTE - This is NOT confirmed yet. We are considering it. In fact, I think I'll start a thread in the Tavern section to see if there's any interest, so please hold your comments and post them there.

Also, I know the "what to do with my GP" question has bounced around a lot. There has been some discussion behind the scenes. I can't promise an answer any time soon, but I do think/hope we'll have something in place for Indy.

As Heidi indicated, we have been discussing several other things for you to use gold on.
And I would think benefactors titles are on the short list, but I would like to have others.

These will not be ready for the April 3rd announcement, but Jeff and I have discussed it. I figure the decision will be made along with constructed items, sometime later, but before the con.

Dave
Since I came up with the plaque/greyhawkian orphans' fund, I think there should be some sort of 5% gold gratuity coming my way. The kids don't need all that much money anyway. They'd just waste it on gruel and clothes.

I do not know about the kickback, but "Sir. Henwy's Greyhawk Orphan's Fund" might be a possibility, or did I just create a monster? =|

I'd be willing to bet that any of Henwy's orphans would BE monsters...

JK - =D

Actually Gary, I am responsible for some monsters being orphans myself (the owlbear story).

Spiffy. In the current DnD campaign I'm playing in my character just recently tried to 'rent' some orphans from the orphanage. I figured they would make for useful torch bearers, scroll caddies, and trap testers. The lady at the orphanage refused to rent any of them to me.

is there going to be some kind of "check list" for the 2006 tokens? speaking for my self, it would make it nicer to know when i have all of them, or what i need to get. i'm sure TD can make some kind of list for all of the different printings for a small fee. something that would include the typo's and such. just a thought.

Well, it won't be a checklist of 2006 but when I do the Price Guide, I bold the tokens in the most recent Print Run. That might help.
Isn't TD in the habit of posting the three rarity pictures of all tokens?

If any tokens are removed from 2005B then I would surely suspect that the pictures appear - that is unless the posting of pictures is done away with.

Typically Dave includes them in the token use guide. So you can tell how to tell them apart from year/run. And the different tokens, and how/what they are used for.
So I would suspect later this year there will be an update to include the new tokens for this year.

I'm talking about this sis...

http://www.truedungeon.com/true/tokens.htm

TD has done two major reloads of this page, both times they posted new PICS of the tokens...

IF we are lucky and the posting of PICS continue - then we could have a new roster of tokens here weeks before the guide gets tuned up and posted.

Just a thought....
