TOPIC: Couple of tokens not in price guide?

Couple of tokens not in price guide? 10 years 5 months ago #1

Hey all.

I have no time to play TD at the Con anymore, sad to say. So I dug my tokens out of storage with the thought of selling them, and pulled up the current price guide. I found the +2 Great Axe, Ring of Evasion, and Savior Stone, which are the biggies I have (small collection).

But I was unable to locate the following in the price guide:

Wooden token, Rare: Potion: Drow Blade Venom
Plastic Token, Rare: Ring of Fortitude

I keep thinking I just missed the ring, being that it's a plastic, but I couldn't find it. Any thoughts on prices for these?

(I also have an 'Everfull Cheese' token that was hand made by the tavern wenches for BYOV...not sure if I want to sell that one though :))

You don't want to use the price guide - it is sorely out of date.

Checking past eBay auctions is probably your best bet (to get an idea of what they're worth).

Yeah, don't sell the cheese token. I happen to know the creator of that particular token.

Kim

What year are the +2 Axe and Ring of Evasion (what are the symbols on the back)? The versions from 2005 might be worth a bit more than the ones from 2006.

Oh I won't, I was just joking about that one. Even though no GM ever let me use it for anything in TD (and I tried, believe me..."Can I distract the demon with cheese? Can I block the door to the cell with a huge mound of cheese?"), that token means more to me than any number of purples :)

I'll check when I get back home tonight. I think I got the ring the year before I got the axe, but I'm not entirely sure.

I also believe a certain former tavern wench has a +6 Dagger of Cheese Defense token as well.

Kim

Has there ever been a 'Find Cat Familiar' token? That tavern cat was very helpful in our dungeon exploring the one year :)

Yeah, I remember when the cat went missing.

Kim

Tom,

Probably the best option would be to simply give me all of your tokens.

If not, however, the next best option would probably be to put them up for sale on e-bay.

Take care and have a great day....

ciao,
john.

PS Did not see you at GenCon this year. It was not the same.

Seriously dude. This is a better place without you. Why don't you go back to where ever it is that you came from.

Not sure how you're using 'best' here :)

I figured it would be, I just want to have an idea of general price ranges first.

I agree. I kept my eye open for you, but no luck. We'll have to make sure we grab a beer next year.
