If we go with the whole if its anything like 3.0/3.5 we are better off with the rules Jeff made up.(exception being the hit points of the ioun stone) Otherwise we are looking at it making saving throws at the level of the caster who made the stone or the user of the item, which ever is higher. So a high level mage's saving throw or a red dragons saving throw =( Sound Burst only works on non-magical items.

I'm going to try stuffing him with my fellow party members and pray he dies of indigestion or falls asleep after a big meal.

You are aware you didn't cast a sonic spell, right? You just said the word SONIC really loud. ;/

It seems to me like destroying the Ion stone is gonna be beyond the skills and token sets of most of the players. I know I only have one wand of MM and no scrolls of it. And no ring of the ram and I know my party has none of those, well the preset party I have with friends.

Yep. It's going to suck for those of us running random pick-up groups here.

I just hope that if we swing and miss the Ioun Stone with a slide, we don't hit and wake the dragon, either.
One wand of MM = 30 points of damage, as long as the mage can do the chart well, she can put on the last 11. Other than that I say hit Booth 1005 while at con and pick up a few scrolls or wands to hedge your bets.

How are people getting the idea that attacking isn't going to wake up the dragon?
I can't see how attacking the ioun stone won't automatically wake him up.
Which I believe was the design to put token heavy and token light in the same category. The token light folks should simply ignore the ioun stone and go for the dragon.

One wand of MM = 30pts +11pt MM Spell = 6 rounds = Possibly two breaths = Charred party?
