Token Guide 2010 (9.0) Feedback 13 years 11 months ago #1

The new guide will be posted soon has been posted. Version 9.0 is here: http://www.truedungeon.com/email/2010_Token_Guide_9.0.2.pdf
Please note:
1. Version 9.0 will not have an updated collectors matrix, that will be in a future version.

2. Version 9.0 will not have full PDF linking, there are several releases planned due to the lore tie in so I did not want to fully link the first few versions. There will be a linked TOC and PDF bookmarks.

3. I would not bother printing a copy of this first version, it will have missing information related to combos due to the lore events going on...

4. There was a post about not being able to read the token print, try increasing the magnification within Adobe, you should be able to read the text fine at about 125%.

Post any typos or issues here, thank you.

Dave

Oh - sneaky way to list the Artifact Tokens without giving away what they do =)

And - I now have a very bad feeling that the 4C token is yet ANOTHER neck slot item...

If the order is in "C" order you seem to be correct. I really think the 4C's need to be slotless/new slots to reward the players who manage to collect them year to year instead of the next which is so overwhelmed with options.

I couldn't agree more. It seems pretty counter-productive (and discouraging) for both 4C tokens (plus the previous 3C token Periapt of Proof Against Poison) to take exactly the same slot. The 4C Tokens should rotate slots, so that if you are a long-time player and manage to collect them all, you can use them at the same time. I've been working really hard to try to get as many sets of 4C ingredients as possible to outfit my group, and it's possible we won't be able to use any of them.

Here are my theories:

Dragonhide Belt is probably the 2010 Volunteer Token. That's consistent with the Dragonhide Cloak and Boots (also Volunteer Tokens). Also, it makes sense that the Belt would be passed out *after* GenCon. Otherwise fighting Smoak might be a bit too easy when the whole party is equipped with belts made out of Smoak's grandmother.

Bracers of Stunning / Greater Stunning are probably the participation tokens for Normal and Nightmare. Similarly, the Necklace of the Elm and Orc Horn of Alert are probably the participation tokens for the other dungeon. Historically, the participation tokens for Normal have been Green while the reward tokens for Nightmare were Red (back when it was actually a reward for successful completion rather than a participation prize).

Your logic seems spot on, I totally agree.

Though since there are three runs (Ward, Hilt, Grind), each with two modes, that makes me wonder what the last two participation tokens are.

Also, it makes sense that the Belt would be passed out *after* GenCon.

Jeff had indicated the volunteer tokens will be passed out on Wednesday August 4th this year, not after the con.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

There's also a Flask of Conflagration which I missed the first time around. I'd bet that the Flask is one of the tokens for True Grind!

Oh. Well if that's true, then I think Smoak's gonna be just a minor grease stain, considering how easy it'll be to hit him (and get extra damage).
