I will add that I don't think TD needs yet another missile weapon and corresponding ammo set.

That, I agree with.

After looking at the post with the list of weapons it occurs to me that a boomerang would indeed be a cool weapon to have a token of.

I'm not sure if I could suspend my disbelief. =D

No, wait, Link had one in the first Zelda game. I suppose that makes it a valid fantasy weapon. Along with bombs.

Bombs? Now that's a weapon I can support! I just need a flying monkey to deliver it!

Exploding pidgeons anyone? (those who played that adventure during previous Gencons will understand)
As far as guns, remember that guns of that era were very unreliable, and tended to backfire. Trained archers were much more deadly. Fire arms of the time were popular, because they did not require nearly as much training as bows and had better range than crossbows. While the weapon was somewhat more expensive, the troops using them were much cheaper...and therefore expendable.

So...you take your matchlock and I will take my composite longbow into the dungeon and see who walks out. =D
Okay, so how does this sound? A "gun" (pick a name) has a six point (five plus a star) damage wheel. It should do well above average damage, but if the star is closest to the dot on the board, it backfires and does five damage to the wielder.

Love the Gamers movies. I hate the idea of guns in my fantasy games. Don't know why, just do. What about the light sabre and chainsaw, anything in the trunk right?

Re: Firearms 10 years 1 month ago #47

For the inaccuracy of the weapons of the era, the damage wheel should be something like 0,2,0,4,0,8
Even if you hit, it may not do any damage.
