TOPIC: True Dungeon Questions

True Dungeon Questions 19 years 7 months ago #1

Okay, I have never gone in the True Dungeon. I don't know too much about it. I'm interested in trying it out. I am going to SoCal in December, but I won't be 18 until after SoCal is over. I read some stuff about getting magic weapons and armor and stuff for characters. What are they made out of? And can anyone tell me more about getting started and what I need to do? Thanks.

Jrod17,

First of all, make sure you have the release form signed by a parent or guardian before attending - I believe it is available on the main page of the site ( Here - http://www.truedungeon.com/1/articles.php?articleId=35 ).

Many of the items that players are talking about are in the form of Treasure Tokens - wooden tokens with the item's name and some description on it. Depending on useage the DM takes the token after use (one-time things), or just makes note of it.

We have a few "true" props - amulets, a necklace, and a couple of other things. We're trying not to overburden our players with extra "stuff".

Reading on the site will give you some information, beyond that we train you in game mechanics and useage before you enter the event.

I have a question and hope that I do not get in any trouble for this, but I'm only 15 and I played the True Dungeon without a parent consent form. I hope that is not a problem if so will you please post something for this soon. Thank you.

It's not a 'problem' since you obviously escaped the dungeon unharmed, but next time you should be sure to have your parents sign one. You can download it from the True Dungeon website in advance if your parents aren't going to be with you at the con and just bring the signed copy with you.

We tried our best at the front to question younger players regarding their age, in fact, many came with parents in tow, but I am sure some were under 18 and got by us.

As far as I know, True Dungeon is PG-13 meaning that if you are over 13...no form needed. Looks like you're good.

Hey I'm well over 13 and I had to sign a form. We're talking about the damage/injury waiver, right? If you're under 18, a parent or guardian has to sign that, right? Is that different from the parental consent form?

Seems like no one reads the fineprint that says :

"True Dungeon also own your soul hereafter."

Hey - I specifically checked for that sort of thing!

(I'm one of those weirdos who actually reads waivers before igning 'em... and I also took a copy with me, since I like to have a copy of the stuff I sign).

I'll admit, though, that I didn't read the TH waiver - I just assumed it was the same and signed it. So, if the True Heros waiver has a line about souls or first born children, I'm screwed.

The waiver is a liability waiver that everyone must sign. Anyone under 18 has to have their parents sign since they are not legal adults. Anyone under 13 would not be allowed to participate even with parental consent. (there are enough screaming adults in the dungeon, we don't need screaming kids too :P )

Actually, we did have some problems with people up in TH that had not read their waiver. In the TH waiver (can't say if it's also in TD), we warn people of the fact that we are using strobe lights. In large bold type at the top of the page. After a couple of people with epilepsy ran through and had some problems, we also added a large sign at the admin desk noting this fact.
