I don’t see an issue with providing written captions where there are homophone clues in puzzles. One rogue box clue in a previous year relied on “read” (written) to indicate the correct color to solve the puzzle was “red.” Captions could do the same—use the clue homophone instead of the answer homophone, and let the players figure out a sound-alike is needed.

Wade Schwendemann wrote: I believe they were saying that they would be able to pause the low frequency background during vocal parts. Hopefully that should make things easier for you rather than harder.

I still support some way of helping the hearing impaired though, whether this solution is good or bad for them.

They need to add a delay after the pause and before vocal parts. The distortion takes a few seconds to pass once the low frequency noise is stopped.

Great feedback, folks. I really like the idea of a closed captioning system. I don't think we can make that happen before Gen Con this year, but I'll definitely explore possibilities!

Thanks as well for letting me know about the effects of low frequency sound on hearing aids - I'll try to make sure that all future recorded dialogue starts a couple seconds after any deep bass.

Keep the wishlist coming! :)

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

How about an what to expect or info guide for folks on build/teardown? We've got players handbook and dungeon master guide that other volunteers can read up on but nothing to help new and returning folks for putting this stuff together, especially with the new upgrades.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Definitely! I've got setup guides for all rooms on my list for Origins, and we've talked about adding guides for local install to tdvols, just like the module descriptions.

Yes please! So many times during install that we've had to pause work due to lack of this information.
