GenCon was an awesome time with always awesome people. I'll just add my kudos here for all the stuff other places on the boards...the food, the people, the extra coaches who made my life sooo much easier. Not gonna get much chance over the next week or more to post or even get online. I only told a few that on Saturday afternoon my mom went into the hospital. She's quite old and has a dicey heart and is the type that if something feels off she goes right in, so this wasn't a huge deal once I talked to her and she told me she was fine, just not taking chances.

Cut to Monday...

After waking up from the Sunday trip home and what not, I called and found that they were going to do a heart catheter on her that afternoon. Also something not really a big deal, a half hour procedure that she's mostly awake for and had done before. But I like to be there for these types of things for moral support if nothing else. Mine, not hers...she's tough old broad.

Two hours into the 45 minute procedure and I'm feeling bit worried...that's when the doc comes out and tell me something went horribly wrong during the simple procedure and they have to go in for emergency open heart surgery. This was about 10 pm last night. About 5 am she was out of surgery and they told me everything was very good and promising. A friend of hers was there and brought me home so I could get some food and sleep.

As of right now, she's mostly awake but still is in CCU with tubes and hoses in her. I'm a little stressed, but they tell me everything is great.

Sorry for the buzzkill and the vent, but you guys are the best support group I got. Be back in a week or so...
