TOPIC: Colors for Forum posts

Any chance we could get extra color options for the text on forum posts? With new colored tokens available it would be cool to be able to have them match, we could use a Dark Brown, a Tan, a Light Blue, and a Light Green

Even though only eight basic colors are in the dropdown for the color picker, we already have tons of color options. When you hover your mouse over the picker icon, you see the eight basic colors. However, if you click the color picker icon, you can enter in the color of your choice. For some colors you can use plain English. Don't get too fancy though. E.g., "pink" or "teal" work, but "blush" or "ultramarine" do not. If you want absolute precision, you can enter the six-character hex code for the color you want to use, preceded by a "#" without the quotes and no spaces. E.g., "#006374" (without the quotes) is teal.

If you don't know the hex code for the color you want to use (who does!*), there are tons of web sites that can translate for you. ColorHex.com is the first one that turned up in my search. The tools are at the very top of the page, above the ad.

*That's rhetorical. One needn't provide any examples.

If you want your text to be readable, please bear in mind:
  • The background color in the preview is not the same background used in actual posts. The preview has a white background but actual posts have a beige background. Quoted text has a slightly darker background color.
  • Light colors should probably be avoided. Tan is very difficult to make out when contrasting with beige. Same goes for light green.
