TOPIC: Sorry everyone

My father had lung cancer surgery a couple of years ago, and the chemo was so rough on him he stopped after one treatment.

I‘be been waiting to go see him in AZ for months, but his home is still not allowing visitors because COVID. But we talked on FaceTime, and I always told him to let me know when he could have visitors and I’d be on the next plane.

Saturday I was going to call him but it got late, so I figured I’d call him Sunday, my birthday.

On Sunday I woke up, checked my email and I learned he’d passed late Saturday night. Worst birthday ever.

I’m trying to get back to normal, but the annual token design process is not the place for an emotionally unstable person.

My grief is probably multiplying my disappointment over things here and I’m taking everything way too seriously. I still think and feel everything I’ve said, but there’s a lot I could have said better. I’m sorry to anyone I’ve offended in the last couple of days, especially Orion.
